Honestly, you won't see much with an underhood shot. It looks like a VQ with long-tube intakes. Everything is behind the bumper or under the car.

Hey Sasha - I sent you a PM a while back... could I purchase oil filter relocation adapters from you? (Or if not, could you point me in the right direction?)

Changing the filter with my Gamma oil pan is more difficult than I would like so I want to relocate...

Hi Sasha,

Have there been any installs with the Comp turbos yet? Interested in how the power curves may differ, if at all. Also, I'm looking to keep my car for 10+ years, 150,000+ miles if possible, and not have to spend a lot of money on things that higher power requires. I would like to keep RWTQ at 350 and as flat as possible. Like your published 400 RWTQ plot that was pretty much the entire power band, just 50 less for me. What would a 4.35 psi spring plot look like? 350 TQ @ 7500 RPM is 500 HP, so I like both of those numbers. Maybe a smart boost controller to control boost by RPM if 4.35 isn't enough to maintain 350 TQ as the revs rise. Has anyone done the 4.35 psi spring? What would the max boost be with a controller and this spring? I've read going over double the spring pressure can get tricky. With a stock exhaust maybe, or just short tails. Just costs, and trying to keep the power levels low. Hopefully stock clutch could handle this. Basically trying to get away with things that the Stillen SC kit lets you get away with, but using your turbo kit, which itself would put less stress on the engine than a SC producing the same RWHP.

Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark,

There isn't any on the dyno as of yet. The power band, response, and everything else should be on par with the BB PTE turbos. Power curve will not differ. As for low boost, I don't think I have even one customer going with less than 8psi of boost, and this will yield about 480whp, and torque will depend on timing and fuel...much like HP I guess.

If you were to go with just a spring for your power goals, the red (5.8psi) may be the best option. It really isn't much boost, and your tuner can use timing to target exactly what you want out of it, with a very high degree of reliability.

With this 5.8psi spring, and a boost controller maxed out, you'd probably be maxed out at around 10psi.

At the end of the day, your tuner will be able to manipulate (through tuning) your power output, where you can have 350ft/tq at 3,000rpm, and carry that all the way to red line, where the power will be at maximum.

Are the new Comp turbo smaller?
I really like the oil less ceramic bearing design.
Not fond of the extra maintenance step but it's manageable
Thinking of a install with a automatic and space requirements.

When I first heard about Boosted Performance, I had some serious doubts. I mean, I couldn't find a website, save for a Facebook page, and I just didn't get a good feel for it all, especially considering it's what people would call a "cheaply" priced kit. Didn't know anything about the builder, the company, the history, the experience, etc.

But then I did some digging... Realized the owner/manufacturer lives in my city... And I've seen his builds on some other forums in the past. He literally produces some of the nicest welding and craftsmanship I've ever come across, and his piping always seemed so well thought out. I saw some pics he showed of some of the jigs he'd create, to be able to fabricate the same parts, in the same fitment, time after time. I was super impressed. Many years before I even had a Z, I would think to myself "I'd love to have a car turbo'd by Sasha!" Every time I looked at one of his many threads.

And now that I know he's the guy behind Boosted Performance, I just want to throw my car and all my monies at him. I was seriously researching the AAM TT kit, and now I've been convinced to go another route altogether. I'm hoping Santa will make me a very happy person next xmas
Presto and YzGyz like this.

Any chance of getting pics of the intercooler? Curious about the fitment of it, behind the bumper. I didn't see anything about the front tow hook being relocated, so I assume the intercooler doesn't impact it? If that is the case, I assume it is smaller than some other kits and I wonder if it is sufficient to get the job done. Can anyone comment?

I think you are going to lose the front tow bar... But the FI bar fits? I'm sure someone can confirm or correct me here since I don't actually have a BP kit... Just a fanboy.

The intercooler is rated for 1000 hp. It's plenty big. The front crash bar is removed when the intercooler is installed. If you want a tow hook you'll need to come up with your own solution.
