Not unless your state does not require catalytic converters.

No. Your tuner can turn the code off but if you live in a state with visual inspection, you'll fail.

However, Sasha was working on a piping section with cats in it. If he got that to work you might be ok. It really depends on your states laws.

You can still fail without a visual inspection in some states. Here in Illinois they check for monitors that are turned off. If it is off, it is an automatic fail.

For what it's worth, I'll be looking to install a pair of 300 CPSI Cats for mine. I'd like to also keep it as quiet as possible. Very fond of the 'sleeper' approach.

Interestingly my exhaust got a bit more quiet with the turbo. Definitely more quiet than it was with HFC.

Of course it did. Turbo is one hell of a muffler, until the waste gates open.

I'm recirculated and it is quieter in every sense than before the turbo aside from that sweeeeet 6766 spool.

Simple AAM short tails, stock y and resonator...

Super keen to hear it. Any chance you got a video?

In this video I'm at 4:40. Spool is amazing. The exhaust is MXP. Sometimes I think the spool is louder than the exhaust. https://youtu.be/cF6usNy3j8o

MoulaZ 09-21-2017 03:03 PM

That's so close to what I'm after. Seen some photos of the exhaust on an NA. Got any photos how it mates up to the BP kit? Was it custom fabbed? How is the drone?

James10694 09-23-2017 09:49 PM

Just started my install and realized I should have inspected everything first. You guys think this bad enough to disrupt airflow? I already PMd Sasha about it. Hopefully I don't need another.

Senna-F1 09-23-2017 10:03 PM

Wow, that almost looks intentional, to clear some obstruction :). Shipping damage? How long ago did you PM him?

Boosted Performance 09-23-2017 11:52 PM

That is intentional for additional clearance on a sub-frame bolt...Also PM'd you.

Still on track for taking orders at end of September?

7ssain 09-24-2017 06:09 AM

Please check ur PM

Elmo370z 09-24-2017 10:47 AM

Why does everything have to be so tight in our platform lol

James10694 09-24-2017 03:31 PM

Ya I know lol thanks Sasha for the help. I'm working on the fuel injectors now. Does anyone have time to answer a few questions that's done this before?

Depends on the questions. Been a few years but I can probably help.

TJ Weston 09-24-2017 04:33 PM

Looking to get abord the order if still available, pm’ed.

Basically I had it cut after the Y section and welded the front section directly to the downpipe section. Sasha provides a raw downpipe and I just had the flanges welded to the BP downpipe and connected that to the MXP. I like it but now I'm looking to go with the Motordyne to make the system 3". Dunno if it'll sound like this but I can always go back.

James10694 09-25-2017 08:45 PM

Finally got the fuel rail back in. Now I just have to find those intercooler brackets I misplaced....

If you can't find them, I can get a set built and sent out to you.

Did anyone have a hard time getting the down pipe inserted into the turbo?? It doesn't seem like the flange will fit into the compressor housing

Assuming it is actually the wrong size, COMP may have sent you the wrong turbo. Email Sasha with details & include your phone number.

James10694 09-29-2017 07:27 PM

Idk it matches up it just won't go into the turbo housing. I've been trying for the last hour. Isn't there a way to verify I have the right turbo?

***EDIT: The inner diameter of the housing should be 3.0”. Check if they sent you a 2.8” or the proper 3.0”. If it’s 3.0 maybe it’s just difficult to do and someone else may chime in. If it’s 2.8 there’s your problem.

Loosen the v-band on the tail end of the downpipe and seat the turbo side first. That seal can be a bitch to get right. I dropped my downpipe a few months ago and I have gotten it seated correctly since. Might help to loose the four bolts on the hot side flange to give you a little wiggle room. Worse comes to worse you can put a little RTV on it to make the seal.

Boosted Performance 09-30-2017 09:43 AM

Jwick, it is not that. For whatever reason a one customer was sent the wrong turbine housing. The down pipe now has a 1/4" lip (3" diameter pipe) past the V-band on the turbine side. This allows for a tongue and groove connection, eliminates the need for RTV, and does not mess with the wideband sensor readings...a much better seal.

So the housing that was sent with that turbo did not have the 3.05" inside diameter outlet flange to allow for the the protruding piece to go in to.

jwick 09-30-2017 09:54 AM

That just sounds like another item to increase the difficulty of aligning the downpipe. Glad I don’t have that.

Elmo370z 09-30-2017 10:37 AM

In for the groupbuy

So is there anything I can do to find out if I have the wrong turbine housing sasha?

You can measure the inside diameter of the turbine outlet.

I believe that this was a random, isolated case.

Yes I've been having a similar issue. It matches up but I've tried getting the down pipe flange into the turbo housing but it doesn't want to go in. So to speak.

James10694 10-01-2017 12:37 PM

I took a measurement of the housing and it looks to be 3" exactly. But its not easy to measure .05". The down pipe appeared to be just under 3in or 3in exactly. Im probably going to give it another shot later today or tomorrow

7ssain 10-01-2017 01:10 PM

Hi, ive sent few PMs and an email and still havent heard back from you. i understand you are busy hope to hear back soon!

James10694 10-01-2017 04:42 PM

Still no luck, after talking to other BP comp turbo owners and a few more attempts I'm pretty positive that I have the wrong turbo.
