The turbo is cold, and there is grease in the center section. As the water/coolant temperature goes up and through the center section, the grease liquifies and everything spins really easy.

This is why you see the turbos on YouTube spin for a long time after shutdown. The grease is designed to work at the same temperature as engine coolant.

Ah sweet, thought it might have something to do with temperature. Thanks. :)

Hes correct and its brand new, once it breaks in youll hear it spinning still after shut down. I may or may not chill in the car and just listening until it stops :) . great kit.

Argh! Stop psyching me up lol. This was the week I was supposed to install it... yeah right. 1 proper day off in the past 18, and no relief in sight. Getting so pissed off. Boxes have been sitting in my garage for over a month now gathering dust. :shakes head:

MoulaZ 03-16-2018 11:32 PM

Finally had a proper day off. Had a chance to start wrapping some pipes. Bought 100ft and ended up like 5 feet short lol. Came out alright though. Still waiting on the final ties.

Nice work. I recommend using safety wire to fasten the heat wrap. It’ll last a lifetime.

You can .. won’t hurt anything ... I wrapped mine but had to remove some for clearance ... the flex part is really close to the floor pan

Crap... seriously? I wrapped it all. What version of his kit do you have?

Or the metal hose clamps. The zip ties may not last.

V1 vs V2 of the kit. V2 has a 4" inlet on the turbo (vs. 3" on V1/1.5). Hence a different filter

Boosted Performance when are we going to see your build thread start for your newly purchased 370z Nismo with all the goodies. :tiphat:

Hopefully in about 3 weeks. I'm back from a 2 week vacation tomorrow and my wife tells me that something arrived almost every day. So, should be fun once it starts. I already installed some engine mounts....

Now I'm confused again. So Black is for V1 which has 3" inlet. But didn't he buy his kit recently which would make it V2 and he'd need the yellow filter? Unless he opted for the earlier Precision Turbo which had 3" inlet....?

Super confused. The Black filters are for the V2 kit, the yellow are for the V1 kit. Precision turbo's have a 4in neck on the inlet. I believe both are Buschur Racing 20 degree green filters. At least I know the black one is because I've bought 4. The difference between V1 and V2 is the route of the charge pipe. On the V1 I believe it went through the passenger side which is your drivers side. On the V2 the charge pipe is run beneath the bell housing of the transmission alongside the turbo manifold.

V2 Black 4 inch
V1 Yellow 3 inch

All I'm sure of is I have the 800hp COMP Oil-less option (4" inlet), and the V2 kit, and my filter is yellow.

Can anyone confirm the intercooler and charge pipe piping?

this is what i assume it should be?

the intercooler exit 3" == 3" 90 degree coupler == 3" pipe == straight coupler == 3 inch charge pipe with MAFs going into throttle body

but what i received is

the intercooler exit 3" == 3" 90 degree coupler == 2.5" pipe == 2.5 to 3" coupler == 3 inch charge pipe with MAFs going into throttle body

is the 90 degree couplers wrong for the intercooler ?? is the 2.5" pipe suppose to be a 3" ??

7ssain 03-29-2018 12:18 AM

Thanks .. ur right sasha confirms that the coupler i got is wrong.. it should be 3” to 2.5”

Boosted Performance 03-29-2018 09:48 AM

Shipping out today, sorry about that.

Tracking number received thanks Sasha! Great response as always

MoulaZ 03-29-2018 08:46 PM

Damn. Need to go through my kit now. So it's just a simple 90 degree bend, 3" to 2.5"?

Yes

Intercooler 3” == 90 dgree 3” to 2.5” coupler == 2.5” pipe == 2.5” to 3” coupler == 3” charge pipe with MAFs

1st start :happydance:

7ssain 04-04-2018 06:24 PM

this is my understanding on how to run the vacuum lines

- BOV: Intake Manifold (tap) to BOV

- BOOST GAUGE: T'ed of the back of Intake manifold existing vacuum line

- BOOST SOLENOID: Driver side charge pipe before throttle to solenoid then to T to bottom ports of the wastegates

- WASTEGATE: Driver side charge pipe before throttle to T then top ports of the wastegates

i will be running ECU boost control and ill be using Haltech (MAC) boost solenoid

can anyone chime in if the above is correct?

Follow the plumbing in the link below:

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...8532cd3ee5.jpg

Instead of the turbo pressure source, use the nipple on the driver side charge pipe, just before the TB.

solidus 04-06-2018 04:29 PM

And for the love of all boost , please make sure you keep the vac lines away from the turbo manifold. It makes for a good story but more like a nightmare for the guy telling it.

7ssain 04-15-2018 12:19 PM

Guys is this normal !!??

its not fluid its like dust or carbon buildup.. i placed a tissue paper on the tailpipe this morning and it is still spitting out this stuff

Pretty much. That’s what happens when you don’t run cats.

Jinxx 04-16-2018 12:25 PM

How long does it take to cover the floor like that ...I’m not running cats on my supercharged or turbo z and I get very little of that. Maybe you are running a bit rich

solidus 04-16-2018 06:33 PM

He should be still on the base map and that's very rich.

i was running catless for 4 N/A years but never got this before.. i get build up on my tailpipe but it never "squirts" like that :rofl2:

I ran on base tune for about month and had nothing like that ....not saying your not running rich cause most base tunes run rich to begin with ...could also be some condensation in the exhaust grabbing buildup in the pipe ...I wouldn’t think it to be anything to get alarmed over ....but I would plan on getting a custom tune...

On a worse case instance I would check the turbo and verify there isn’t any coolant leaking past the seals to the exhaust side ..I have read the one turbo had faulty seals and this happen

I am currently getting remote tuned with Seb @specialtyZ .. he confirmed that it’s something normal.. I was running for a week with only the base map from him until i sorted out my fuel pressure issue ( in tank leak .. sorted)

That picture is from few days back .. since then I gotten few update files and he started to add more boost.

Ill keep an eye on this for now if it continues ill do more digging
