Did you have it all buttoned back up with the sound deadening material and cover on with plastic? If yes, then it shouldn't be heard at all when the car is running.
|
Oh yeah, fully buttoned up and it was still easily heard.
I just finished up installing the replacement pump and it is as quiet as a mouse. That was it, a bad pump. Now to re-schedule my diff install and tune at Z1. My tach sensor has arrived so I will be working on it and a dimmer circuit for the AEM gauges tomorrow. BTW: It is MUCH easier to get to the fuel pump by taking out the passenger seat. Us big guys need the extra room! |
Avant Garde M590 wheels are shipping TODAY.:happydance:

My car idles fine but runs like crap with the Stillen tune. Going with EcuTek and remote tuning by Seb at SpecialtyZ. I hope this works!
My wife is like, "so you take your car that was running just fine, spend a bunch of time and money on it and now you can't drive it. What were you thinking?" If only she knew...........400+ rwhp should make her scream! |

Hahahahahaha....I thought My wife was the only one that said this! I experienced the same thing when I first installed my S/C.....The Stillen can tune had me down for a few days as it was too rich to drive on the road. StillenZ84 and a few others also had some hiccups when he converted to the A2A Kit....it happens. What I can guarantee you is that Seb will be there for you every step of the way...especially through the bad times. He helped me troubleshoot a lot of stuff when I switched to EcuTek. I had tried remote tuning before with a different Tuner when I was N/A and let me just say that the amount of pulls and data logs that Seb had me doing freaked me out. He won't stop until he get's it right and he also won't do anything to jeopardize the safety of your motor. Excited for you man, and totally sub'd for your results! :tiphat: |
You just made my day!
I've been reading up on Seb and I feel that I have made the right decision and you just confirmed it for me. Thanks!! |
Ecutek kit arrived today! Now Seb and I can get to work!
|
Looks like we might have a little snag. My Z is a early production 2009 and the ECU version isn't showing up in the Ecutek list. It is in the Uprev database so the version is legit. Anyways, I have sent Seb all the info he requested (screen shots and ROMDUMP) and he will work it out.
Super nice guy to work with! |
Yup, you are in great hands and if he can't figure it out on his own he will work EcuTek to get you up and running the right way!
|
Seb is the man, I have been working with him for a few weeks now on tuning my BP twin scroll 6766 kit as well as going E85 and my experience has been stellar with him.
+1 for anyone needing tuning local or remote as in my situation |
I just loaded my first tune from Seb. WOW! What a difference!!! Runs and drives like stock once again but with a lot more throttle response. Like, be careful type of throttle or the rear tires will break loose.
Now to get some logging in for him. I wish you could see this big grin on my face! Today started off at Veloce, a new indoor electric go-kart race track. Got a couple of races in and showed some young ones that us old guys can drive. Came home and started working on the Z and success. Great day so far!!! |
Wheels!

Here are a couple of shots of my new wheels from GetYourWheels.com. Jason and his crew were great to work with. I followed his offset reccomendations and, well, look for yourself. Absolutely perfect with NO spacers, NO rubs.
Tires are RE-11 (OMG!) 265/35/19F 305/30/19R. Now I can put the boost to the ground!:driving: |
Seb just sent me a new tune to load. This one is a little richer while on boost. I'll get it loaded after work and get some logs done. Yesterday while coming home I dipped into the boost and got about 6psi and it was pulling like a freight train. Things happen real fast when the boost gets to 4psi. Can't wait to really open her up! And yes, she will spin those big tires easily in first gear. Had to scrub them in ya' know.......
|
Latest tune is awesome! Seb is getting her dialed in.
Finally got the dang TPMS sensors to program, took it to the dealer. They didn't rape me too bad. It wound up being worth it because when I drove in the service bay all of the mechanics stopped what they were doing and drooled over my Z. Then I popped the hood!:eek::eek::eek: |
Lol, I had that same thing happen when I took mine into the dealership for an alignment. It was funny because a guy walked into the waiting room after dropping his car off for service and asked how fast are things moving and an old guy that was sitting there said, things were moving pretty fast until that damn Nismo came in. I bit my tongue to keep from laughing out loud.
