I sold a kit to a guy that is over in Japan. He just emailed me his results but they use crank hp. What number do we use here as a drivetrain loss? 17%?

JWillis72 07-06-2016 07:40 AM

I would think that's right, the stock car is 332 hp and usualy dyno 275ish whp. Thats 82.8% of the hp number.

TopgunZ 07-06-2016 07:58 AM

Well in that case he made 501whp! Glad to see someone chime in with results and breaking the 500 mark, even if it is ever so slightly.

501! That's great! Do you know how much boost he was pushing?

I need to get a slightly oversized idler pulley for the SC drive belt. The 2.9 pulley on the SC makes the belt adjustment run out before it is tight enough. About a 1/4 inch larger idler should do the trick. I'm planning on taking it off and checking with the local parts stores unless someone has already done this.

I think it was in the other thread but Evo gave me a part number from Napa that worked perfect. Do you have a plate with the grove for it made longer?

Mine is still stock (the plate). I have the stock jackshaft pulley and a 2.9 on the SC. The belt is almost tight. I think that if I had a larger diameter idler pulley the tension would be better. I can still twist the belt to 45 degrees but it seems too easy to do.

I think I saw the NAPA pulley in a thread but I can't find it. I've been doing thread searches without any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty positive it was NAPA Part #36112. It is what I have on mine with the 2.95" supercharger pulley and it works good. It is the 3" I believe.

But we all have longer slots so I'm not sure if it will work.

I just looked at the first post in the other thread and we have been talking about this for over a year now.

There is one guy in Fl who made 700whp on a 350 before the belt broke. He is running a huge blower

For you supercharged guys on ecutek, do any of you ever have the visual knock sensor ( flashing service engine soon light) go off on you when boosting in 5th then shifting to 6th ?

My buddy is tuned on ecutek ( stock stillen) and his gets the flashing in 6th randomly when he hits throttle. IMO no need to be in boost in 6th but just curious if this is a glitch in the software or accurate knock sensing

milkcow500 07-06-2016 03:44 PM

I had that issue with my previous EcuTek tune. It has to do with the noise/vibrations that the supercharger makes in the bay if I recall. I haven't had it happen yet with my tune from Seb though.
