well an update... My turbo seems to have broke i have oil out of the tail pipe and oil leaking by the turbo... it now makes no boost. I'm thinking damage to one of the wheels inside. Maybe ill get that ATS - V!

If you're still running an exapump I have a damned near new 6466 1.32ar to sell for cheap.

thanks for the offer, but i'm just looking to rebuild the turbo. I want to take it all apart and make sure its not just a blow seal first. If it is not, ill see if Sasha can get me a new cartridge.

Are you sure the exa pump is working?

If the scavenge pump failed that would explain oil getting down the exhaust but he should still be able to build boost ...now I would assume if the pump failed it could have blown the seals out ...prolly needs new turbo seals and check the scavenge pump

Hey does anyone have a link to the install kit? I want to make sure if I take it apart it will go back together.

solidus 11-03-2018 03:46 PM

I just went through this with the exapump. Check the exhaust , and also the intercooler. My wiring for the exapump got nicked during motor install. Had oil everywhere. Ended up having to soak the muffler in a bucket of gas to get rid of the smoke. Oh, and taking the turbo off is simple. It's just on the flange for the manifold, no need to take off anything other than oil lines and the lower charge pipe.

So with the issues you guys are having with the oil fed and scavenge pump why not switch to the comp oil less turbo

I took off the intake pipe at the main and didn't see any oil, I'm hoping it just shot int he exhaust. If so ill just get a new one, i need to put a cat in anyway to pass emissions. Gonna start next week, to much work and real life stuff. what do you guys think about the ats v ?

I would have right vefore I did the 6870 but I didn't even think of it till Sasha said something. Scavenge pump isn't really so much a problem as it is a temperamental bastard. First failure I had was from pieces in the system with my engine pop. Replacing it was easy. This last time a wire got snagged during the built block process.

There have been more issues with the Comp turbo than with the exa pump.

None of that is the pumps problem.
