Upon picking up car today from dealership I shared with them the book hours of another dealership of 1.3 hours for cmc install. They looked into it and said I was correct and they made a mistake on the original quote...... Hmm. Anyways $600 for clutch install. Left dealership and accelerated from first light and car won't rev past 3,000 rpm and check engine and traction control light is on. Limp mode in guessing........ Pissed at this point, u turn and right back. Car is throwing crank shaft code. Called Joe at Z speed to verify correct fly and it is he said it sounds like they clocked flywheel wrong or damaged it. One pissed off mofo right now. They are still trying to figure it out

Well they pulled transmission again and found a bent smashed tooth on reluctor ring. Claimed they did not do damage but they contacted joe at Z speed and ordered another one and are paying for it and install.

While I was under car I did not know about damage but there appers to be a scratch on block just above and to left of crankshaft. From a tooth on reluctor ring maybe? I.e. bent smashed tooth. The metal on bent tooth was actually wiped

They did show me what they had hiding out in their back shed that they said I could trade the Z in on though.... Hmmm....$68k, 2013

On the flip side of that the shop i was going to go to tried to charge me 150 hour.... needless to say I said no thanks. It is a big job so I know I will have to pay a fair amount, but 150 a hour!! I am waiting for a quote from my old shop that works on Honda's, and German cars. They are 105 hour which for the area is feel is fair. What do you guys thing?

That's fair for a shop that REALLY knows that they are doing. I think my local guy is $110/hr.

You are having a shop install the whole kit?

I spent $250 on good flat top Jack stands and hockey pucks I have all the tools. Starting to wish I did clutch myself. No one will take the time to do it right and do it like you would personally. Just my .02

Update! I am starting my build next week. First thing I am doing is getting the new clutch put in by a friend. The week after the kit will be installed, but I still need to find a tuner. I do have a question, what oil do you guys recommend, and if I get the base tune can I drive it to my tuner with out going into boost?

Change your transmission oil now!! Do it before you slap the BP kit on. The Turbo manifold makes getting to the fill and drain hole a PIA.

Yes. The base tune will allow you to drive it to your tuner. Just don't beat on it.

This is only after you have done all your checks. Make sure your AFRs are good.
