Default P0106 - MAP Sensor trouble?

Okay so a few months ago, I had an SES light pop up. Read the code and it's P0106, which is relate to the MAP sensor. I've done a ton of searching, tried the recommended fixes, but no luck. Car only has 8200 miles on it..

DTC P0106 [NISSAN] :
- Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
- Manifold Absolute Pressure harness is open or shorted
- Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

My question is, since I am boosted, and the MAP sensor is used to seeing vacuum in the N/A engine, is this a problem all of us forced induction users face? As far as driving goes, the car runs 100% perfect. From my understanding, our MAP sensor on the Z is only used for purging the EVAP canister, is this true?

What is the solution here, turning off the DTC in uprev? Or could it be that my sensor is actually faulty? Looking around online the sensor seems to run about $180, an expensive 'maybe' if you know what I mean..

Any input would be appreciated!

Found this on identifix, seems like ecm program is the most common.

Test the resistance on the map sensor.

Un plug the sensor, test the wires going into the MAP sensor, see if theres a open.

Also check and make sure the wires haven't melted on the your exhaust manifold and check the vaccum line going into the map and make sure it hasn't melted against your manifold. Since you have a stillen kit, the map is moved, I bet you anything the wires have melted on your exhaust manilfold, look on the left side exhaust manifold.

Engine Control Module (ECM) Programming

1. Check the current ECM part number and compare it to the listing on Technical service Bulletin ITB12-026d from June 6, 2013 to see if this vehicle applies. If it does apply, the technical service bulletin calls for a reprogramming. 2. Confirm the operation of the sensor through the scan tool.

This is an old thread but one of the top hits so I thought I'd share what was going on with my MAP sensor.

I started getting a CEL on cold starts about once every three months with a code P0106. I'd clear it myself and it would stay off while I was driving the car. I didn't notice any issues with acceleration or idle. Then it would come on once a month, then once a week, then daily, then on every start.

My local shop said it was ECU program related and I needed to have Nissan do a software update. I'm tuned with EcuTek so that wasn't something I was willing to do. My EcuTek tuner said it's more likely a circuit issue and recommended a different shop. That shop found the barometric pressure sensor wires had frayed and was probably causing a short on cold start. They replaced the wiring, and I've not had a CEL since.
