My 09 NISMO Fast Intentions TT Build
Finally getting around to putting together the ***build thread*** it’s been a busy summer. If I go to one more wedding I’ve been to them all…
I'll try to make this concise. I've been told I'm a rambler. 2009 370Z NISMO, 6MT, true red, aka my baby. I spent years saving and researching and flew to Chicago from Northern Virginia to get my hands on it. Worth every penny :driving: The final result will be Fast Intentions twin turbo on a built block, running E85 with an EcuTek Flex Fuel tune. Performance goal is 600rwhp. Work is being done by MA Motorsports in Glen Arm, MD (builders of Chris Forsberg's championship winning drift 370Z). Daelen is my rep at MA and he is hands down fantastic. The shop is awesome, very impressive interior, and the employees extremely friendly and up front. Initially I was considering sending it to Forged Performance as per Tony at Fasts' suggestion, but ended up settling on MA due to location. At the end of the day I want to be near the shop that builds the car, and Georgia was just too far away, although I know FP does absolutely amazing things with cars. If you haven’t checked out their 400Z build you’re not really living. Performance goal: 600whp on E85 Reinforcement specs: - JE pistons 10:1 - CP rods (hell to the yeah) - New main bearings, rod bearings, thrust washers - ARP Main studs (regular) - ARP Head studs - New OEM gaskets - SZ Z34 clutch and flywheel combo, 5 PUCK clutch, up to 725whp) - HKS M-Super Fire Racing spark plugs - Whiteline poly diff bushings TT specs: - Fast Intentions Twin Turbo Complete kit (#44 I believe) with the following upgrades: - Bosch 1000cc fuel injectors - Aeromotive Stealth 340 LPH in-tank fuel pump - 34 row oil cooler - 3” down pipes - 3” FI CBE - Greddy PROFEC boost controller EcuTek specs: - FAST-500 E85-Ethanol Fuel System - FAST-500E Flex Fuel kit with blue ethanol percentage gauge - Need to iron out these details with MA as they are not equipped for EcuTek yet, but said they will provide. So far they’ve been everything I could ask for in a shop and more, so I feel really good about my decision. For example, I have my rep’s personal cell phone number. Not bad! Current tires / suspension / exterior: - Potenza RE-11 265F/325R (thanks forum for the research info) with a good 5k miles left depending on driving style - 1” Eibach springs – will upgrade to coils “soon” - Wrapped in 3M Clear Shield, body kit is OEM NISMO Future cosmetic mods: - Make that sh!!t look like a red Godzilla - Stillen sway bars probably - GTR push start to match the exterior :) - Splash guard - Super dark tint, it’s 35 now That’s everything I have right now. Feel free to ask any questions and/or pick apart any errors in the list and I’ll try to address them. I may or may not be typing this while “preparing a contract addendum.” Huge thanks to forum user hjo1078 who not only let me test drive his insane FI TT 641whp Z, but also answered every single one of my nagging questions about his build and even after all that, became my real life *non-internet* friend, along with his wife! Two of the most genuine and awesome people I’ve ever met. Also thanks to Tony at Fast Intentions and Daelen at MA Motorsports. Forged Performance and Baker Performance were also very professional and on point. At the end of the day I’m really glad I went with MA and can’t wait to see what kind of speed madness they churn out with all my hard earned cash. :happydance: xx KJ xx |
Congrats !!

If you want pics of the motor work we're going to have to wait for those. The kit hasn't even been delivered yet (October timeframe). Car's in the shop now for block work. If pics of the car are all you want, I'll update that shortly. |
:drama:in for this !

Just out of curiosity, why are you only shooting for 600whp on a built motor and E85? You could do that pretty safely with a stock motor from what some of these guys have shown.

I am however secretly hoping to max out closer to 650 :) |
I love the way people talk about 600 whp like it's nothing. Congratulations and I will be looking forward to your progress.

I also thought it was awesome for MA Motorsports to jump on here and throw some pics of ur car up and throw a shout out to F.I. and others....that's says a lot.about their professionalism and I can see why you chose them....Like I said....Very Smart.... |
What's the story behind the third picture previously posted? That was N/A?

You made the right choice jade! Good to see your motor is finally out. And thankyou for your shoutout! You and your bf are super cool too. Cant wait for both of you guys to be back on the road again. Anyways see u guys around soon!

better safe than sorry is how i feel. |
Congrants on the build! I made the same decision as you in terms of the motor part. I have never experience a blown motor like you but i did not felt like going thru that in the first place so i deciced to build it also althought just running 450whp which is hardly pushing it. Just waiting for my turn to upgrade to ECUteck to push the sucker.

In regards to how much power the motor can handle, I don't know. Mine let go at 532hp and 500tq. I did drive mine hard though. I'll likely just throw a used motor back in and call it a day. |

I also have some super cool *POSSIBLE* developments that I'll post about as soon as I can confirm yay or nay. ;) All in all everything's coming together nicely. Although I do have to finish paying the bills...anybody want to come to a yard sale...? :p Side note, it's been really fun going through this experience with my other half. We're both really into cars and there's never a dull moment. You know when your friends start building and you get the bug? He decided 650+ C6 Z06 isn't enough power (or rather, it won't be enough soon...) and adding manifold, throttle body, clutch/flywheel to the 302/308 cam setup, with drag radials for good measure. Oh, and a stupid large tank of nitrous. we'll be having some fun soon. :yum: Christmas is coming early :driving: |
Mid nov will come in no time. Dont forget to pay ur car taxes. Lol its due on the 5th. I hate octobers.
