You see the MAFs start to run out around 550-600 for these cars on most other Dynos, and with the cams and compression this thing can move some air! Real happy with the performance on such low boost, this thing has plenty of room to go. Built to handle nearly 20 psi before the turbos are out of their range.

As for the delay, we ran into an issue after the break in of the initial engine with a slight noise. After some digging the call was made to pull the motor and inspect. After comparing the assembly notes to disassembly notes it was found that some clearances had changed a slight amount. Not abnormal, and in all honestly it most likely would have been fine and never caused any issues other than a slight noise. (If it was a shop car, would have never even been concerned on the noise) But being a customer car, and the goals Jade had set for the build, we didn't feel right sending it out like that. The parts where replaced, measures where taken to prevent that from ever happening again, and the engine was once again re-built. She runs better than ever before and will be solid for many miles to come!

Its awesome to see a shop who stands behind their work and goes above and beyond to make sure things are done right the first time. Plenty of other shops would of thrown the keys to the customer and moved on to the next build.

I cant wait to see the #s at 18-20PSI

awesome thanks for the advice!

...living vicariously through you for sure. Congrats on the car, loving the updates. I agree that MAM handled this situation with amazing service levels. We'll done

Spooler 04-30-2016 01:01 PM

How are you enjoying the car since the warmer weather?

katjmmx 05-01-2016 05:28 PM

Hiiii and I apologize for the lack of updates... adulting = excuses, excuses. I've been having the time of my life as expected! The weather in Virginia is amazing, the car is running well, I'm a very VERY happy camper. I could rattle on all day about how much more fun and exhilarating it is to drive the twin turbo Z from the old stock motor, but in short it's like night and day difference. I try to keep her in the garage (people here drive like dicks) but every gorgeous Friday she's out and you should see the way this thing leaves cars in the rear view! And of course everyone's a racer when my bright red nismo rolls up. But the best part is, showing off a little can turn into leave you in the dust power in an instant. The turbos pick up so quick and keep pushing all the way through the top of every gear and don't let up til you do. It's just ridiculous. The speed and power is crazy addicting, I love it. There's been a bit of troubleshooting along the way but MA and FI have provided five star customer service. Which is the best case scenario because I've never met anyone with a modded car that didn't need some adjustments. And these guys put up with my neurosis like champs. She's actually at MA right now getting a full boost tune and a few other small tweaks before ZDayz! Which I am super super excited about!! Also can't wait for first track day coming up in a couple of weeks, I'll have lots of juicy info to post. Currently obsessing over new tires, a predicament I'm sure many of you have faced time and again. Excuse me while I disappear for several hours down the rubber rabbit hole!...

Spooler 05-01-2016 06:31 PM

Tires, that is easy. Get RE11's. I run 285/35/19 front and 325/30/19 rear on the factory Nismo Rays. I like them. Don't have to worry about curbing a rim when they are not stretched leaving the rim out in the open.

See you at Zdayz.

Congrats! My FI TT install is almost done.

I would recommend some drag radials  I just ordered MT ET Street S/S which most of my strip friends run and swear by with similar power levels.

Be well.

For the Dragon, NO WAY. Side walls suck. It is RE11's or R compound Tires of some sort.

See you at Zdayz.

I am currently on RE11's and love them! 265/35 and 305/30 on stock 19" NISMO rims. I really enjoy them for cruising around but they don't hook at all with this new power. I am constantly sideways. Which is fun but gets old! Granted there's ~8000 miles on them, that might have something to do with it. I'm looking at Nitto NT01s for the best of both worlds.

Look forward to meeting you at Zdayz! :hello:

Have you tried decreasing the negative camber some. Stock spec is like -1.7 area. You could try -.7 for your rear camber. This will put more of the contact patch of the rear tire on the road. There are also some other things you can do. Ecuteck boost by gear and traction control. Upgrade the rear diff if you haven't already to a better unit, OSGiken or Wavetrac, etc. Good luck with this issue. It seems everyone fights it when going FI.

Don't get into a turbo Z then cause it won't after that. Heck I said the same thing when I was at 500whp lol!

Z06 is an entirely different beast when it comes to planting high power though too... I might suggest a set of Nitto NT-05 or 05R! they hook my daily boost setting of 730whp rather well and the side walls are still rigid enough for me to comfortably take a turn at two times the posted speed. little pricey per tire but I think just about any street legal R compound tire is anymore.
