Oh, I assumed you blew it up. It is going to be interesting, I never considered uping the psi before BP and evohunter started this project.
|
Just measured my pullies
Stillen 2.90" Jackshaft 3.20" SC 3.20" With impellar upgrade this is supposed to see 12psi sea level I cant see a 2.45", 2.75", and 2.70" making anything under 15 but I havent calculated it. |

Has anyone calculated the impellers rpm? I was reading on 928 motorsport today and it said the vortech is only made to spin 50,000 rpm but they can up that to 60, 000 but I have no idea what it starts at in the Stillen kit.

Go to vortech's website. Click manuals and tech info, impeller speed calculator, then fill out the info for the V2/V3. It's about 49K RPMs as Stillen sells the kit. There are multiple people on the 350Z forums turning their vortechs over 60K RPMs for years. Then when the bearings fail, send the unit to vortech for a rebuild or trade up to something better.

There are high speed bearings available for the Vortech:
928 Motorsports - Premium High-Speed Ceramic Bearings for Vortech® Superchargers I would take some time and try to get as much of the belt around the drive pulley on the jack shaft as possible. This may involve some customizing, but would go a long way if one is trying to push this blower. |

I can pull it out about 3 ", I just didn't want to cut it right there.
but I think im gonna have to :( |
Got the intake manifold off, If you have a 12mm EZ-RED 21" long rachett wrench with pivot head, makes the job super easy. Got the Intercooler out, dropping it off in a few hours at the machine shop to have a plate fabbed up!

Really interested to see where this all goes. I had been looking into a Stillen kit already, and this is just making my wallet itch even more.

90° doesnt work. But 180 does. This design went with 0 and it worked out great.
|
I have no problem with the design, just curious why it changed.

Machine shop wanted 140 bucks to make this piece. way to much!
I went down to metal supply, bought a 5"by5" piece of alum. Fabbed it up my self, then painted it black with VHT wrinkle paint! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...pscujka9xj.jpg |
$140???!! Lol!!
Looks just like mine! |

I need bigger injectors, and a return system. I'm going to install over winter and retune next year. I just want to get everyone a baseline off the air/air system then move up from there! |
Winter in Canada, that doesn't sound fun.

Well at least she will enjoy inhaling this new Air To Air COLD AirFlow!
|
Wouldn't have to worry about over heating :roflpuke2:

That block off piece looks legit. Don't forget to put a gasket or something on it.
|
Can't wait to see the outcome of this kit.

Okay guys, got my pipes back from the powder shop. Ill be mounting up tonight.
I received all my pulleys yesterday as well. Ill post up my findings, The idler pulley on the blower side needs to be changed. I found one from dayco pulleys, 34$. the only problem - The bearing is weak sauce. Cheap bearing. I'm going to universal Bearing and seal today. They have a bearing good up to 100,000RPM - For the set its 26$ ill provide everyone with part numbers and pictures once I tackle it! |

I was thinking a Right Stuff Cooper, gasket maker, Its really good for high temps, I use it on exhaust systems a lot. Should do the trick :) |
