Very nice! I've seen that one somewhere before, but it never gets old! HA! The Z had to shift so the GT-R thinks he's just pulling on him...then them turbos spool! :D

Awesome Vids Tony thanks for sharing....Those are pretty strict rules at your track....That's the first time that I've ever heard anyone say that you're running too fast to have a passenger.

I know that different tracks have different set of rules. Are helmets required for all runs at your track no matter what times you pull. Over here were only required to wear helmets if we run the 1/4 @ 13.9 or faster.

So it's if you break 12. Good thing I've never tried to run there since I don't own an helmet.

YzGyz 09-16-2015 09:15 PM

They rent helmet upstairs if you don't have one. Driving at the strip is fun. I enjoy it. You get to go fast, see lots of Stang, Maro, and all sorts of cars. $20 and your good to go.

I really like at 03 sec you can tell you get on it, listen to the turbo spool for a second and instantly the front of your car comes up. Some serious power right there! Beautiful video!

$20 and ur good to go.....that's not bad. ...over here u can pay an annual membership fee of $50 and get unlimited runs all year....but u still have to pay a $5.00 pit entrance fee...member or not....Non-members pay the $5.00 entrance fee then $2.00 a run....track is only open once a week either a Friday or Saturday nyt from 7pm-11pm....but races don't usually start til 8-8:30pm .... so u really only get about 3 hrs of track time....on a hot night u will be lucky to squeeze in 3 runs

The way I look at it the $2 runs are the way to go....now if membership gave unlimited runs and waived the Pit Fee than it would he an awesome deal.

Bump Bump for the turbo vids. This is my contribution to the thread. My brother and I got bored a few months back and he wanted to record the turbo as I fly down the highway. He told me that the turbo spool was louder than my CBE. I can hear the turbo really loudly in cabin she spool being a mid-mount. I guess my brother was right.

I found my little recording of a video my brother made and just posted it on the tube. We were not racing, just cruising and he wanted to record it.

BP V 2.0 kit with journal bearing, FI non-res CBE SS cans, spring pressure about 7.5 lbs

Finally have some of my own to contribute! This is a comparison side by side of stock vs turbo. Street tires, back road, pretty awesome to see the difference in the same conditions:

Didn't want to fail at the drag strip in front of spectators, so I did my first ever burnout last month:

Looks pretty damn good to me! HAH! Did you have to remove the brake lamp fuse so it would allow you to do a standing burnout?

I actually put a switch in so that I don't have to worry about removing the fuse. I think the product is normally used for towing: Blue Ox BX88271 Fuse Bypass Switch | eBay

Not my car but by far my favorite VQ37 TT video out there. Camera picks up turbo spool, blow off, and flutter. All my 3 favorite things! :driving:

Thanks! Yes, It's the BP kit. I went with the single exit cause I figured what's the point of having a dual exhuast on a single turbo? Might as well save a few pounds and make it louder since I have the power to back it up now haha.

you can pass on the next event though right ? lol

Optimiser 01-30-2016 10:21 PM

Too much wheel spin and can't go around corners very well. I knew 648 whp (on just 2 back wheels) is a waste on this car.

Lets see...58 posts, 3 rep points, not sure if you're even worth the time to respond, but if you watched the video, you'd know it was on street tires, stock suspension, and actually turned down to 9lbs of boost. Which is about 500 wheel. When you decide to put money into the car to almost double the power, there are more things you need to do rather than just slapping a turbo kit on to make any car track ready. Some fancy Nt01s will make a world of wonders with this car.

But hey, with all that "wheel spin and not able to go around corners" I'll sure have a heck of a lot of fun lapping you on the track. :tiphat:

Welcome to the Forced Induction tread, but you might want to take a step back and read up and try and catch up on what is capable with a 370z. I really don't know what you mean by a waste as he was faster than any other car in his heat. Wheel spin is a result of many factors, not just horsepower. You may also want to review some of the build threads as there are several folks that track their wasted 600+whp beast. Cornering is a matter or suspension set up and driving technique and horsepower does not have anything to do with turning a car lol. Anyway, back to me wasting my horsepower looking at V8's in my rear view mirror. :driving:

Hey Ryan,

I've watched your entire video from beginning to end. One thing I did get from the video is you were absolutely LOVIN' the boost :)

If I can give a bit of input though, when going to these types of events, instead of giving space to be able to floor it down the straight-away, I'd highly recommend staying behind some of the experienced drivers throughout the turns(paying close attention to their entrances and exits) and watching their lines and techniques(obviously not tailgating, but respectable room). This is where you will truly learn the most about your car, and where you can pickup/lose the most time. I'm sure the guys at the event saw that your car was fast as fawwwk down the straight aways, but to really learn the car and cornering is where it will completely fill your pallet of driving skills and put you in an entirely different league(even on stock Nismo suspension).

Hope this helps buddy, love the vids you post, keep 'em comin'!

Absolutely! Thanks for the heads up. This was an all beginner group so no one really knew what they were doing. LOL!! Still an absolute blast though! Next time I'm increasing the class of course so this will be a great option.

Yeah...the CRX belongs to my good friend that's in my car group. The CRX is actually running a B16 and is Turbocharged....It's completely stripped down with only a dash and racing seat and fuel cell. The Z has about 1500lbs weight so I am happy with the run.

Been almost 2 years since I ran the Z at the drag strip so I was a bit rusty not to mention they changed up the tree setting from ProStreet Settings to three light staging so I got confused with the timing at the light...

It was a great run though...tuning not quite done...will take it out in a few weeks to see if I can get the quicker times...
