Maybe I please borrow your bank roll for a few days. Congrats on the build. Glad to see someone go into uncharted territory and succeed, when other give up and buy a gtr ( nothing wrong with that). Cheers for helping and sharing with the community.

Masterbeatty 03-11-2015 12:11 PM

Which radiator do you have? CSF triple pass? I remember somewhere you said your engine runs alittle warm due to the boring of the 4.5L.

bullitt5897 03-11-2015 02:00 PM

I went with the GTM competition radiator with twin 16" Spal fans! Each on their own controller!!! We rate them by tornado sound level! Had a caravan the other day and everyone in front of me thought there was something wrong with their AC systems because they are so loud! Haha like 3 cars....

Do you have a link for info on the motor build?

There is an old build thread started by GTM I think... I can bring some of the info over later on the specifics...

LAVA 03-11-2015 03:07 PM

Wow that's a hell of a lot of power. I'd get in too much trouble with 700+ rwhp...Nice job!

:iagree:

Instead of purchasing a GTR you made a one off 450z.

800whp show car 370z is way cooler then a GTR. Nowadays 800hp GTRs is like Corvettes see them everywhere.

This car has inspired me to update my car build. Lately just been modding and not sharing.;)

Anyways, beautiful car going to see what the damage would be if do a built stocker block myself.

Thanks!

Yes it will make a big difference in the flow.. My drivers side exhaust manifold is cracked and now I'm forcd to just have it rewelded since I can no longer find another gtm manifold. I recently tried purchasing one through vivid racing to come from gtm but again they failed to come through after 6 weeks..

Reach out to R A D, I think they sourced a replacement, not 100% but I remember Alex mentioning something about that.

hahahaha you guys crack me up!!!!

Honestly, this thing has way too much power for the road! Its going to take some seat time before I really open her up for high speed work. I am currently going through my suspension now and making new adjustments.

Bring it up to Chicago for a weekend and we can put my small rear brakes and 28s on it and see what it does on the drag strip!

How about being some tools and wheels/tires to zdayz haha.:stirthepot:
Sorry I'm supper excited for zdayz, obviously!!!:happydance:

KratikosG37 03-12-2015 10:38 PM

Haha.
F & F for the win...

If you going to bring it on the drag strip I'd make sure I had a traitor to tow just in case.

If you don't have a DSL would invest in one.:)

For curiosities sakes, I am sure you have gone a really deep rabbit hole chasing those numbers, why the stock GTR intake manny when there are many on the market that are much better, albeit even just for looks? I can only imagine the amount of coin rolled into this, whats a few grand more at this point?

bullitt5897 03-13-2015 08:30 PM

Jay,

Honestly, the GTR conversion was and is very prototype like... There are only 2 units in existence... My current unit and tturbo has my old unit... That's it. Yes another intake could make more power or even look better but at this point we wanted to see what a base one could do... We really were only looking at the manifold for stability reasons...

COSMO 03-14-2015 11:12 AM

did I miss the dyno graph??

bullitt5897 03-14-2015 12:46 PM

I didnt post it yet. as the dyno broke and the graph looked funky as hell!

I respect that, but you might be able to push less PSI and make the same or better numbers with a better flowing intake many?

roplusbee 03-19-2015 05:33 AM

Finally! Were you shocked about the dyno or grinning like a bandit? That moment at Z1 was a long long long time coming. It's good to see that you never gave up on it. I am also very happy for you..........especially getting down with some good people after all this time. Don't get it wrong, I am not saying that the other shop was full of bad people. I am really saying that you are in much better hands with Z1.

tturbo370z 03-19-2015 09:35 AM

I'm very glad to see this at your house and not the plethora of times I saw it on the lift at GTM. looks way better in front of your house  I'm just starting to be able to drive mine a little and yours way apart waaaay longer than mine so I'm glad ️your deciding to enjoy her some. I found out the hard way you can get too into modding your car and not able to enjoy it, just as I am sure you did also. Congrats for having her home bud and can't wait to see and hear about the enjoyment you will be having with it. Oh and those fans are loud as hell when it's sitting I know :roflpuke2:

Oh make sure to let me know what u come up with for custom strut tower brace will you? I want to keep the cover on mine aswell. We should Invest in a someone making us a burnt titanium one :yum:

Grinning like a bandit and jumping up and down like a teenage girl at a beib's concert! I am glad I didn't give up on it as well the car is too much fun!

Sooo glad to have it home! I often walk in the garage and look at it... Just stand and stare... I am only taking it out on nice days at the moment.... Waiting on Z1 to get my new hood in and to get there dyno fixed.... I need an alignment bad!!!! Lol

Also, on the strut bar... I have a design... Text me and I will send you a pic of the CAD... You are really going to like it! Titanium would be expensive as hell!!!! Lol but we can price it out... Nothing like having a 1 of 2 in existence mod hahaha

bullitt5897 03-19-2015 02:40 PM

Just wanted to update the thread with an old Dyno from GTM where we made 886whp and 710tq on pump gas back in 2011... this was on the old stock intake manifold. Since then the kit has been taken apart and reassembled many times. I cant wait to see what Jon@Z1motorsports can do tuning this monster here in Ga!

http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...Dyno886whp.jpg

Think about this! 700whp by ~5300rpm!

Rid3_FaM0uS 03-20-2015 02:18 PM

bullit your car successfully put down 880 whp with the factory plastic intake mani!? did sam ever say if he did it several times or was this a "final pull" deal? if this really is possible ive been stressing for a metal manifold for no reason!!

No you need one!!! Mine is for sale for a million dollars

Rid3_FaM0uS 03-20-2015 03:43 PM

I think at that price tag ill wait for Charles do design his! Thanks for the offer bubba! :D

phunk 03-20-2015 03:51 PM

Might start cutting next week!

But bullitt5897 needs to go get some 9 second passes out of this car. My 6MT may still hold the record trap speed, but the ET is currently held by a 7AT and we cannot let that slide for long.

bullitt5897 03-20-2015 05:59 PM

I am going to need a good driver for that... Me and launches from a dig right now needs some work... Either it's burn out or *clunk... Hit the start button again lol

phunk 03-20-2015 06:08 PM

You are going to need some serious tires. Pick up a set of base model 350z rear brakes, I have test fit them - they fit up no problem at all, just a little trimming to the dust shield required. Raise the suspension to near stock height. Align the rear to minimal camber (less than 1 degree). Then you can use some 15" wheels. Some 28x10.5 street radials with about 18psi in them. Disable the brake input at the ECU and deactivate the code for it, then you can get a nice 2nd gear burnout going. With some practice, if your clutch survives, you wont get any tire spin!

Won't u need axles from drive shaft shop? I also heard u will break the diff mounts? I believe it is after the first if not second launch. I know they had to reinforce weld the diff mounts(if Im using the right words) on terribleones after the second launch cuz it broke. I have not went to the strip because of his very reason. They have weekend drags all the time but my car gets expensive having to transport it to Cali whenever it breaks down:ugh2: sides of not being a car guru like master phunk :worship:

phunk 03-20-2015 09:28 PM

You dont need axles. The trick to not breaking the driveline is to preload before launching. Which is very easy, just very lightly let up the clutch until you feel the drivetrain is loaded and then slip it out hard. No problem. You should be doing this always anyway. It doesnt hurt to carry a spare axle with you... but overall the stock axles can handle the power. Shocking the driveline will break any axles you put in sooner than later.

As for the diff mount, you just need to install the whiteline differential bushings. The stock bushings are too soft and will fail quickly. These bushings are cheap and install is pretty easy... hardest part is getting the stock rear one out. There is no welding or fabricating involved.

Lmao ok that translates into you don't know what the F u are doing and yoir gonna break your high dollar toy :roflpuke2: I have white line bushings. I know tony at fast intentions welded something on terrible ones car that broke on launch. Sorry I'm not enuf of a car guy to articulate but I'm always up for learning. Thank you phunk for clarifying about preloading the drive train, I though only autos could do this depending on the tire u are running.

ok now back to talking about how badass bullets car is :icon17:

phunk 03-20-2015 11:20 PM

If they welded anything it was probably just to repair damage from the stock bushings failing before upgrading to the white line ones.. Otherwise I can't think of anything back there to weld on.

Rid3_FaM0uS 03-21-2015 11:03 AM

Hurry da fak up and start cutting then Charles! :D don't worry man you know that my car is being built for straight light purposes so I'm going to be shooting for deep nines. Maybe next spring after I've had plenty of passes under my belt ill shoot for a perfect 8 second run but that's going to take some serious time spent at the strip with this 6MT
