Seibon carbon fiber hood questions

Thanks cooltoy, that is extremely helpful. Also the hood pins actually look really nice so now I know for sure I want to get them installed. Nice Z!

The hood was installed by MAC Autosport and it looks even better than I imagined:

We ended up going lengthwise with the hood pins, which I plan on getting painted to match the Satin Black of the HRE wheels that are being made at the moment.

Love those hood pins. What do they attach to? Can you post a pic with the hood open and maybe a close up of the pins?

These are all taken from the same position; from the left, at the left hood pin:

Hope that is what you need.

Love the look of the hood! This is the one I plan on going with but just now starting to dig into reading up on reviews.

Is there no way to use the OEM latch and close and secure the hood? I like the look of the hood pins but just curious as to if Seibon or any other brand utilizes the OEM forms of securing it.

Where did you purchase the hood pins?

Love those recessed hood pins

The door handles should have been similar to them IMO

I was able to take off the OEM latches and re-use them, different hood but still Seibon.

The shop that installed them is a dealer, but you can find them on Amazon. Here is their website: Aerocatch Home Page

The Seibon hood does use the OEM latches, but they do recommend that you use hood pins as well. In my mind carbon fiber is an exotic material and I have seen it do some pretty crazy stuff when applied to mountain bikes. A small defect could turn into a catastrophic failure, but to be honest I really like the look of the hood pins. Although I might go ahead and swap them out with the non-locking version.

I just installed mine in the same spot and the pins line up when the hood is closed but the hood will not close over the pins because of the arc geometry. I know I need to modify something to allow the pins to clear the bottom of the latch and I'm trying to determine my options.

I will take another more detailed picture of the hood pin to give you an idea how much they are adjusted/bent.

I will also give the shop I used a call to see if they have any insight as well.

I'm also wondering if they modified the underside of the latch where the pin enters...
