EVO-R 370Z Rear Diffuser

I tried to install the EVO-R diffuser this weekend (FRP version) & could not get it to fit at all. Without pushing on them, the upper 'corners' were probably 1"

Without pushing on them, the upper 'corners' were probably 1" away from the body. If I really pushed, I could get them flush, but no amount of adhesive or tape is going to hold them. And that's pushing the top in first and then fitting the bottom / screws. It's like it's sprung for lack of a better term. The diffuser is completely flat (if not bowed a bit in the opposite direction). Any ideas? Suggestions?
