Quad tips
Anyone know where to buy quad tips to fit zele kit ?
|
|
They look small though
|
Fast Intentions made a set for someone as part of their catback...not sure how they'd fit a Zele. And like I said, was part of a catback so don't know if they'll just do tips. *shrugs*
|
the set FI made was for a Zele Kit. I forget the owner of the car (maybe Fly1 Motorsports can comment), but it looked pretty good.
|
I believe it was for Mr&Mrs

It was FLY1 you're thinking of. These quad tips are going to be smaller than our normal 5'' dual tips in order to fit them into the openings.
Here's a shot from FLY1's thread. http://i1019.photobucket.com/albums/...ps45a7db83.jpg |
I'm not sure the diameter of these tips but I love this shot of the CS tips from behind, they look just right, not too small at all.

I want tips to be around this size!! It's perfect |
Hey Guys...yes, we had 4" tips (x4) welded into ZForce's FI exhaust. That's the biggest round tip that will fit comfortably in the Zele rear as each opening is 4.5"x10" (but taper towards the edges). The tips don't come attached to a y, as we felt it was better for the exhaust shop to fab their own y-piping to get placement perfect. Hope that helps and PM us if you need tips

Awesome!!! ^^

As of now have only in CF but black titanium or burnt tip titanium can be arranged, but in our opinion that's a good size for GTR but bigger for Z. And our tips comes with a Y pipe for easy fitment :tiphat: |

Does the 4" tips have a 2.5" inlet? |

The FI exhaust will fit; but you will need quad tips to fill the opening and look "right". Any exhaust shop can chop your current tips and weld on new ones to fit perfect (not nearly as intimidating as it sounds). Quad 4" tips fill the Zele rear perfect. And yes, 2.5" piping was used on the red Z above. |
To the OP as I am one of the only ones in the US with a real kit. The Product offerings on the market will not fit an authentic kit... I know because I have the schematics from Zele Japan on their exhaust and the bumper. Their exhaust tips are oval and not round. If you are buying an authentic kit PM me and I will share the schematic measurements with you.
If you are getting a replica or knock off kit then yes their are some options on the market. What most have done is had a custom exhaust made for the kit. |
I am running a custom exhaust from GTM for mine... I also had my bumper modified to accommodate quad 4.5" GTR Agency Power tips (Discontinued).
|
Very nice... Thanks for the info... I have the Fly1 ZL rep kit w/carbon fiber insert... however, I probably will pick up the carbon fiber spoiler later from Zele.
|
My exhaust is getting worked on tomorrow. I will post pics of quad 4" burnt tips.
|
cool, thanks man... I contacted Tony and he sells the 4.5" resonated tips for $125 ea and $15 for shipping. I was told that it would be a tight fit (that's what she said)... I will measure the exhaust opening when the body kit arrive.
|
I wasn't able to get the tips installed because the shop forgot to order stainless piping so I have to wait until May 2nd now. It's a tight fit for piping. My estimate is $700 for stainless, TIG welded and they're going to join two pipes into one for me. I bought AAM 4" titanium burnt tips.
|
$700? sound kind of high from what other said it cost ($150) them for the shop to fabricate...
|
I think others are doing raw steel and branching it out. I want a cleaner look. I was also quoted $350 for raw steel. I could get it done for cheaper, but I want it to look right. I'm going to get a quote for stainless from another shop, but I think it'll be around $500 because of the labor involved.
edit: The shop that quoted me $700 refused to "hack" the job and wanted to make a stainless ypipe that goes into one and then into the fast intentions canister so the tips are functional. |
good luck and let me know how it goes... Can you take a pic of the rear ZL bumper installed with the FI exhaust before it is modified? THANKS!!!
|
I'll get some pics when she's done. Hopefully soon -- it's burning a hole in my wallet. I did NOT expect the costs of everything that is happening.

Have you tired R & D Custom Exhaust in North Billerica. They did some work for me a year ago the work was A+ and the price was even better. Was referred to them by another car guy I know.

edit: I called them to re-do my whole exhaust. I never got quote just to do tips. |
I think they do stainless , the modded my coule exhaust to fit my sedan . Split the rear mufflers and made new piping :)

Mag_Black,
It looks like the exhaust tip is behind the rear bumper's opening. So the exhaust shop has to extend it and bring it up more, right? |
Quote:
edit: the real zele exhaust is 4.5", but it's oval tipped. |

I had the opportunity to go w/ a faux 2nd tip, but it would probably bother me knowing that one is only functional. |
Mag Black,
How did you attach your front lip to your front bumper? Can you post a pic? Thanks... |
I bought this...
http://www.the370z.com/members/bkngo...-rear-view.jpg Dimensions: •Inlet: 2.5 Inch (63 mm) •Outlet: 4 Inch (102 mm) •Total length: 11 Inch (265 mm) •Width: 8 Inch (203 mm) base on my measurements it should fit. the exhaust shop should be able to weld this onto the exhaust... let the waiting begin... |

I'm getting my exhaust done tomorrow, I'll post pics of that too. |
cool, much appreciated! I will drop my car off next week. I am still looking for an exhaust shop that can modify my exhaust. My friend tig welder is being repaired right now...
|
Carbon Signal real titanium quad tips matched up with fast intention exhaust.
3.5" & 4" diameter tips, 8" wide, 9.5" long. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1417992277 |
