Unhappy Car cover from Nissan?

Hey guys, I just bought a new sport touring 370z. I was going to purchase a car cover from Nissan and cover it everyday, but I was wondering if the cover would scratch the paint? Or scuff it? Any ideas? Thanks for the input as well.

Yes. Taking it off and putting it on will cause swirls and micro-marring. It will be less of a problem if the car is clean and dust/pollen free.

What MacCool said. And that applies to any cover. See the JunkMan2008's posts for excellent paint care tips.

have the nismo cover, haven't used it since my 09. reason? it scratches the living **** out of your paint. even with a freshly washed and waxed car, and a cover with zero contaminants. Although I had it sitting outside when It was covered "outdoor version of the cover" so even though the inner part of the covers made of that micro fleece it still gets swirl marks somehow like you were using a pear of denim jeans to wash it. If you use it maybe 2-3 times a year? no problem, if you take it on and off the car constantly? you will do far more damage with the cover than it would endure getting pooped on by birds or getting some sun. You can only buff the car so many times before you run out of clearcoat.

But on that note, I had mine completely buffed, polished and waxed professionally and it got rid of the orange peel from the factory paint, now its as smooth as a Ferrari. So if your looking for a reason to do that then this is a good solution lol.

I have a Covercraft Weathershield. My Z is Platinum Graphite. It is covered 5 days a week at work and has been since September '09. No visible paint damage. Go to the Covercraft site and research the different styles and materials, they all have different applications depending on your requirements for a cover. Mine was sun protection and to a lesser degree, dust protection.
It has served it's purpose well and they have a 4 year warranty.

I have the Z1 cover. Use it only on a clean dust free Z inside the garage. I havent noticed anything on my clear coat that would have been caused by it. Been using it since late summer 2012.

It will cause scratches at some point.
