My buddy that owns a bodyshop suggested it to me, I also used it on my spoiler, front emblems and b-pillar covers

Not very thick at all so makes for a tight seal on lighter items

Correction, this is what I used on my emblems:

3M 03615 Molding Tape .875 In X 5 Ft

This is the thinnest that 3M makes I believe and its for trim and emblems exclusively

It's actually the same stuff Nissan uses on the Nismo wing. They have this on the leading edges, and then another row right behind it with the thicker stuff. and the bolts of course.

I'll take a pic when I get home.

this is about twice the thickness of regular scotch tape you use at your desk. it's thin.

ive not tried it on exterior, but i presume it will work. just make sure you let the adhesive cure 24hrs before getting it wet.

and make sure the surface is clean.

the only thing i would worry is how well it will stick to the backside of the evor's cover. i recommend maybe a coat of adhesion promotor on the backside.

Default Thiner 3m tape

Just in case anyone was looking for a thinner tape, I stumbled across

3M 38583 which is about half the thickness of the aforementioned tape.

Cooltoy, when redoing the 3M, just apply side edges. Don't put in the middle. Cuz it will pull the panel inward. I would remove the old tape, and put any 3M double side is fine.

I competed this project over a year ago.

Got the VHB tape (I think kenchan recommended it somewhere), worked great. Nice and thin and super strong.

3M VHB 4905 Double Sided Clear Transparent Acrylic Foam Adhesive Tape Long 2M | eBay

Case closed.
