Installed Alcantara shift boot and Nismo Ti Shift Knob

Installed a new shift boot from JPM Coachworks... Sweet alcantara boot that matches the touring interior nicely.

Also installed my Nismo ti shift knob from my old Z. I used a black aluminum collar from Z1 that I ordered a while back.

i think it looks pretty slick... I only had the '14 Z a week before I removed the fake pleather knee bolsters.... The pleather shift boot was buggin.

Did you change the knee pad things also because those look different than mine or is that a touring difference?

Yes sir...

The knee bolsters are different in the roadster. The touring coupes come with pleather knee bolsters. The ones in the roadsters are alcantara... Match the door cards...

Did you have any trouble getting the OEM knob off? I am changing out my '14's out next week.

I'll tell you what worked for me...

I used a pair of vice grips on the shifter shaft... I kept the surface from marring by wrapping the metal with a rubber jar opener before using the vice grips.

I used a large strap wrench while holding the shifter shaft with vice grips. This keeps everything steady and keeps the transmission from getting damaged.

After the thread lock broke I switched to a smaller strap wrench. The large one will not spin around past your dash.

Take your time it's not bad. There is a great DIY on shift knob removal that I followed.
