Don't have to use chromoly. Use mild steel DOM. Cheaper and you don't gain that much weight. And no the car is not aluminium, its steel. Use 3/16th mild steel

Don't have to use chromoly. Use mild steel DOM. Cheaper and you don't gain that much weight. And no the car is not aluminium, its steel. Use 3/16th mild steel plate. I believe cold rolled is stronger.

Only thing aluminium is the hood, hatch, and doors.

Just an FYI if you want price and weight and strength. Unless you get under 3k you need 1.75" x 0.120".
