stains around wheels
I've never seen this on any of my cars but there is this brown stain around my wheels and on my splash guard and it looks like oil residue. I can't seem to get rid of it, anyone have any suggestions?

yea thats what i thought, I'll post pic tomorrow of what was left behind. I'm guessing I'll have to clay it out since its not coming out with soap/water. i dont' think its brake dust; when i wiped it off, it was like a mix of tar and oil, very greasy and thick like paste.

looks like the typical road grime you get when it's been raining. A combination of diesel fuel and tar that gets picked up by your wheel onto the body. I found that a paint cleaner gets this off without any problems.

Dish soap will strip the wax off your car but its not "bad". There are rumours of it drying out your paint over time but periodic use is fine. I use it before I wax my car. Normal car wash soap first to lift the dirt and prevent scratching then dish soap to get the wax and more stuborn stuff off.
