Excessive Heat Coming Through Floor Vent

Did the guys at ZSpeed explain how this has any effect on temps? I'm a huge fan of the product, but I'm not sure it has any effect on the temps.

Yeah. Not much effect on temps, however he said it allows for much better air flow under the car. It dissipates the hot air more efficiently.

This is a version 2 model. It offers other benefits as follows.

1. Direct access to oil filter. No need to remove the OEM for changing oil filter.
2. Allows for deeper oil pans.
3. Allows for Oil Pan Spacers.
4. Allows additional clearance for aftermarket swaybars.
5. Also has a drain hold for coolant. Again no need to remove OEM shield to access.

It may dissipate the hot air under the panel better, since it's got a few vents. The area in question in this thread is well behind where this, or the OEM panel end.

BTW, if you have an oil cooler, the sandwich plate makes it damn near impossible to get the filter out through the trap door.

I do not have an oil cooler so this is not an issue for me.

Once I get it and get it installed, I will post if this has any effect on the hot air coming through the driver's side foot vent.

It it doesn't, the other benefits of this panel are worth the expense to me.

It's worth every penny it costs. Just don't go in thinking that there will be some kind of interior temp reduction because of it.

bit off topic but how do you empty your cooler when doing oil changes?

You can buy stick on reflective insulation on under side of the floor facing exhaust system. That's what I have done with my race car. Think about what it's like for me as I have no carpet to insulate floors or driveline tunnel. Good reflective insulation takes care of a lot of that heat. You could also shield ventilation system.

You could also go to your local Home Depot and buy a few aluminum ducts and cut holes in your stock cover and rivet the ducts in place to get some air flow.

No need to spend money on that aluminum pan for ventilation.
