WeatherTech FloorLiner review.
Hey everyone.
I used to, as a joke, have my WeatherTech FloorLiners listed in my sig as a 'mod'. I actually received several PMs about if I liked them. So I figured that I would write a review: Spoiler...I love them. I don't care for carpeted mats. The biggest issue is that they do a terrible job keeping water off the floor. They also tend to move around on me so they need to be pulled back in place blah blah. My one concern with the FloorLiners was the material. I was concerned that it was a hard plastic that would offer little grip for my heel. I was pleased to not even think about that concern once I put them in place. The material gives just enough to my heel (specifically dress shoes) to give me a solid foundation even when wet. At the same time there is enough hardness that I feel they will last as long or longer than carpeted mats. Installation was very simple. They come in a flat box so there is no issue with curling. They are flexible but again don't have that 'rubber' or 'floppy' behavior. You just slide them right in. As you can see from the pictures the fit is spot on. So the annoyance of mats moving around is a thing of the past. For $120 with shipping I can't imagine going back to carpeted mats. I love these. Some notes on the pictures. First, I moved the seats all the way back. The flash reflects off the liners making them look like they 'stand out' against the floor. This is a flash/picture effect. Second, the picture that shows how the liners go over the mat hooks is with the driver's seat all the way back. The picture that shows the WeatherTech logo is a better representation of what the driver's side looks like. Lastly, the passenger side picture is also with the seat all the way back and with the camera low on the seat. When sitting in the seat you cannot see the front lip and as I said before, they blend very well. http://www.the370z.com/members/arrva...ivers-side.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/arrva...ivers-side.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/arrva...ngers-side.jpg |
nice. id definitely get those next time for my dd. i like the large lip it has on the sides to contain the soil/salt/water on the mat.
|
Love mine...rinse it dry it and it's brand new again.v
|
I need some of these. Adjusting these walmarts mats is getting old.
|
It was the first mod in my car, put them in 45minutes after driving the car home from the dealer.
Very happy with them. |
Just finished vacuuming my Weathertechs clean. Here in FL sand is a real nuisance so these work out very well. In the snow belt I be they're even better, keeping salt, sand and crap out of your carpet. I also paid about 120 for mine with shipping included. Good deal. I'll never go back to traditional. I even had the "Monogrammed" Z mats they hardly looked used. I'll save them for when it's time to sell it.

def need to invest in these. my current floor mats are breaking apart
|
These mats should be good for the rainy seasons up here in Vancouver :D
|
Bought a set of these as well, fit is awesome and they look great.
|
Question for those who own these, I hate the cloth to rubber on the OEM mats (my foot can tell the difference) and I am always adjusting my foot. Does this provide a solid feel for the heel no matter where I put my foot?
|
That was one of my major concerns before purchasing them. I have not given it a second thought since putting them in a month ago. The rubber gives enough to provide a solid grip for even hard heel shoes, even when wet. At the same time the rubber feels hard enough that they are going to last...an excellent balance. ...I have the FloorLiner.

Agreed with Arrvaxx 100% No foot slip at all, non issue.

Weathertech's HQ and main showroom is literally right down the street from me. I got them for my wife's Tiguan and we love them in that. Was wondering how they would work in the Z.....thx!
|
Down the street? I just e-mailed them and told them they should join the site and offer us a discount! You should go down there and plaster the370z.com decals all over their windows. ...even though I already bought mine!
They should also make custom name inserts! I'm such a dork.:nutswinger: Quote:

This was the first "mod" I did for my Z as well :)
|
seriously looking into this for mine as well. wonder if there is a way to change out the emblem on them or just add your own. I saw on here a vendor (Zspeed)that sells square domed nissan emblems but not sure of the dimension of those but if measurements are done of the emblem section it should not be hard to find something to fit in there, just take out the weathertech part and add your own
|
They work great!
I have them for the trunk also, works just the same. |

anyway i love them. so much. anyone who gets in my car also comments on how nice they are/the fitment. cleaning them is propobally on of the best features, literally just take it out and spray it with a hose. i love em. |
Got my mats on Saturday. Their showroom is AMAZING! Complimentary Coffee/Espresso bar while you wait (only 10mins btw!), and cool vehicles. Showroom is immaculate! Lot's of cool products on display. I'll have to upload some pics from my phone later, but being a ex-motorcycle guy I really appreciated the old vincent, MV Agusta, Ducati, etc, and the Porsche Tractor was all kinds of COOL!
Mats are great too! Drove around with them all weekend. Maybe a little more slippery than I'd like which isn't always great driving a 6MT, but not terrible. Protection is great! I'm going to do the Nismo badge mod soon. I was going to put the 40th badge on there but it doesn't look like it's going to fit. |
Hrmm, any pics? I got DigitalFit Weathertechs in the first week of owning the Z, and while I like the protection and high sides, they do leave me wishing for better.
They slide downward quite a lot and the back kinda lifts itself up off the anchor pegs on the floor. I'll have to adjust them every other day to get them back on the pegs and pushed down. They're dang slippery underfoot. Would love if they just covered the dead pedal in my 7AT. If I put my foot there, I just know anything on my foot is going to fall back and under the mat. I should just mod this myself with a heat gun and some plastic. :P |

Octopus? Don't think so. :) My feet just slide a little when I dig my heels in for a little leverage.

Sorry you find them with a little more slip than you were hoping for. I'm pretty hard on the heel and never have an issue.
|
So I'm about to pick up a set now that wet season is coming. Are there any vendors here I can order from? of course I can get it from amazon or ebay, but I'd rather support forum vendors if someone here is a dealer.
Edit: Ordered a set from our vendor Joe@Zspeed! |
Does anyone have any idea if the floor area has changed for the 2014's? I'd love to order a set of these but I don't wanna deal with the hassle of returning if they don't fit at all...
EDIT: I'd be willing to Paypal someone a beer's worth to take their weathertech floor liners to the nearest Nissan dealership and test out for me if the 2014's are the same. |
Don't think you will have a problem with fitment...I am very happy with mine, many people who sees them in my car now want a set for their own cars/trucks. You can get a good deal on them from our vendor, Joe@zpeed.

EDIT: I sent Joe@zspeed an email to see if they have any insight as well. |
They don't list the 2009 either but they fit it. They haven't really changed changed anything that would change the floorboards so I'm sure they will fit.
|
After 6 months, my Floorliners have settled down a lot; they don't slip like they used to both along the bottom of the floor nor my foot along the top. I'm still not impressed that they don't cover the dead pedal, but alas, I'm otherwise happy, I guess. I still get more pebbles than I'd like under them, but they do the other important part: protect the carpet from my shoes and the muck. So, fair 'nuff!
|
I consider these WeatherTech floor liners to be one of the best products I ever purchased for the Z. I'm extremely picky about keeping the condition as new as possible. These will be going in every vehicle I own in the future, well those that I truly care about.:tup: for WeatherTech
|
Love mine, cover dead pedal and forms a nice dirt trap. Made in America also.
|
How's the smell? There's a few "good" floor mats (good as in worked well) that I've tried, but they all caused my car to have an unbearable rubber smell. So how do these smell?
