Polish the paint... EDIT: On topic, the first option with black and red shrouds looks best. Not a fan of painting the strip too, keep it simple!

off topic a bit, I just pulled a ton of tape off the front, and I was going to polish it today until I saw the damage a dump truck did. Over 50 chips to the front and about 10-25 on each side when a dump truck blew it's tire on the interstate about 1/2mi ahead of me. The vibration caused the rocks to go everywhere and traffic was kicking them around. I was soo mad. I'm probably going to bypass polishing this year and file a claim with insurance.

Yeah, the strip would be a bit much

Edit: Here's black chrome without the red strip:
