Status seats in a week

Higher seating than stock is a no go for me. My head nearly touches the headliner now.

i have the red status seats on the car. FO rails do fit the ring GT. However, the side mounts from Bride need to be bent slightly. Also, if your tall, the seat will rub the door. so if you slide the seat all the way back, it will rub the door.

Bride FO rails seat much lower than stock!! about 3-4cm lower

which rails are you using? im really want to get rid of the rubbing

btw with planted seat rails and base, you wont rub!
and there was a member that got a planted seat base that wasn't leveled. i called Status and they got me a leveled planted seat rail right away!! Michael at Status was very helpful throughout the buying process

The rubbing depends on how far forward or back the seat is

I am using Status rails,( which are 3-way height adjustable) Status Sliders, and Wedge Engineering base.

Nice find. With the various types of status seats (or any seat really), the side mount bolts are spaced closer or further apart, so I'm assuming they intend for the side mount portion of the bracket to bend in or out to adjust for this?

The side mounts have like a 2-3 inch swivel zone that you can slide back and forth to accomodate for any seat...

The advantage with the buddy club vs Bride FO rails or the unlevel planted bases is that the buddy club rails for the left and right side are seperate. What this means is it can accomodate any width seat and isnt stuck with the max setting of whatever bracket/base is with the rails and brackets it comes with. (I hope everyone understands what im saying) it can easily be seen in the pics of the brackets

Ok gotcha, that's excellent. The only sad part is that you would lose those beautiful aluminum Status side mount brackets. Unless they would bolt up to the buddy club rails instead of the ones included and still give you the lower seating position....

You mean the Status racing emblem on the side of the seat? If so that would still remain visible... Actually The buddy club brackets have a cool hologram chrome sticker on the rail that's visible that looks super hot

Default jay at vivid

Just a heads up to anyone ordering Status seats from Vivid Racing. if they claim to have Status seats available DO NOT buy them. I ordered a Standard Ring with a GT-X label on the side. I was like Wtf this is not what I ordered? So I called Jay up at Vivid and he tells me it def. is a Standard Ring and that is just mislabled. Not only was it mislabeled, it was a used seat. How do I know? There were scratshes around the mounting holes, a grease fingerprint on the cloth part of the side bolster, and get this; a quarter and a washer underneath the cushions! I mentioned the scratches and items left under the cushions and he replied with, "The seats are actually test fitted to make sure they are level. The quarter probably got there from someone in the shipping department sitting on the seat." Why in the world would anyone in the shipping department need to sit on any of the seats?

SO, I give Status racing a call to get a clarification on the dimensions of both standard and GT-X seats. I mention to an honest man named Collin the situation I was going through. Come to find out, Status and Vividracing are somehow the same company. Idk what it is but apparently their office is in the same building. He asked if I spoke to Jay and I said yes. The seat that Jay sold me was actually sitting up in the boss's office up for display; seated up against a brick wall. Idk if you guys consider a display item a used one, but I do. Especially if there are scratches and what not all over it. Collin was trying to sell it for $650 but had no luck. So Jay ends up selling it to me for $720.

I call Jay back and ask him about it, but he sticks with his story. So I'm just like whatever, I'm not going to bother arguing with him because I'll lose regardless since I'll have to pay for return shipping. I'm more upset about being lied to than anything.

Car scrapes floor, driver scrapes roof, sounds like a natural progression of modding

That's Vivid for you. They've got a long history of being shady.

Just in case anyone had any doubts. Not going to order anything from them anymore. And I actually need another Status seat for my passenger side. Going to order directly from Status from now on.
