If you are using the ones that Status is providing, (Status side mounts, planted seat base, universal rails/sliders), you will seat a tad bit higher than stock even with the lowest setting.

I'm almost confident that Status ring GT will fit bride FO rails. I have them on my ring seat and there was a bit of room left.

Ok, good to know. I wonder if I bug Status enough if they would start producing rails/mounts that lower the seat a lot.

Are Status seats homologated or crash tested in any way? If I'm losing the airbags I at least want to know if they're going to hold up in an accident.

Cool. I had some Brides in a previous car that weren't, and I never felt really confident they wouldn't kill me. Ended up going back to OEM. I've got OMPs in my track car, but they're far too uncomfortable for daily driving.

There is a video on their website, but I believe the Ring is the only FiA approved seats. That doesnt include the Ring GT and Ring GT-X

Which Brides did you have?
I rode in a 370z with the Stradia and they felt solid, my main objective with a seat change is creating more head room.

Congrats on the seat, you will love it!
Hope you didn't get the planted bases, in many cases they do not sit level. Wedge engineering is the preferred base from Status. My Ring seat has good clearance from the door panel, the Ring GT just hits it slightly. The resistor fix for the airbag only works if you have drivers seat only. The passenger seat requires the resistor and the weight sensor. There is a thread on here where someone is attempting to make a fix for the weight sensor, nothing yet though. Height is indeed higher than stock, noticably. Good info on the Brode FO rails, I didn't order them as I wasn't sure they would work with the Ring/Ring GT. Looking at the Wedge Engineering brackets, there is not much height to be gained there without a serious redesign. Perhaps the Status side brackets could have one more hole drilled lower which would bring the seats even with stock height. The FIA certification is for the FRP seats only IIRC, which is a shame as the carbon and carbon Kevlar ones really are the way to go. ![]() |
