![]() So, they are those things you mount on the engine bay and hood that are spring loaded and hold the hood up without needing to place the bar. Is there a good reputable pair for the 370. A set that holds all that weight up and doesn't wear out after a year? (thanks)

There were, but I think the issue with the 370 is that the aluminum hood is too fragile to support itself on a pair of dampers. You can easily bend the hood.

I know that was a fear someone brought up. But has anyone really bent their hood using dampers?

Yeah the hood, front fenders, and doors are all aluminum.

I just lower it down to about 12-18in and let it go and it latches but it not too high that I will damage it.

Surprising (well, to me...). The only car I ever knew that had a lot of aluminum in the body was the older Mercedes. (not that I'm a walking encyclopedia of car knowledge...after all, I couldn't even think of what a hood damper was called...
)
