D4s, as far as I know, are the Mercury free versions of the D2s bulb. They physically have the same shape/size, therefore are able to be plugged into the stock ballast, but I've also heard that D4s bulbs require their own special ballast apart from the D2s ballasts. You're reducing your lumens/light output with replacing the 4300k stock bulbs with 6000k bulbs, using a Hg-free version will reduce that even further, at last from what I've read.
