So I guess the question is, where is this harness going from the seats to the console hidden in a non-touring model? The wiring harness is there under the seat, but I don't know where it's hidden (in the dash or somewhere beneath the carpet). And, does this hidden harness have the heated seat wiring connectors for the switches?

Referencing 2009 FSM SE-5, SE-8, SE-11, SE-23, SBC-10, SBC-16, and SRC-157, I see nothing that will affect vehicle operation (other than warning lights) if the seat connectors are unplugged.

A visual inspection of my 2009 Touring (includes electric seat warmers) indicates that there is just one, "medium-sized" harness running from the console to each seat. These harnesses branch off under the seats to go to seat position/recline switch and such.

My conclusion is that you can remove the console/seat harnesses, assuming the connectors in the console don't contain pins with other circuits (I can research that, but it's a PITA), but you will trip seatbelt, SRS, and maybe other alarms. If all else fails, there may be enough room in the console to allow you to tuck the harnesses in there.

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert - check the FSMs or a qualified technician before performing any modifications.

My harness is attached to the seat frame and then goes under the carpet. I didn't pull up the carpet to check the harness routing, but, according to the FSMs, the connector on the other end of the harness is in the center console. I could not swear that the harness doesn't physically go to the door sill first. I'm assuming that they took they shortest possible route and the harness passes either in front of or behind the seat rails and then heads straight for the console.

It would take more digging than I have time for right now to verify this, but I believe the heater switches have their own connector with power in and outputs to heating pads. You can look at the SE FSM under the System Wiring and Terminal Layout sections to get a better idea of how the switches/heaters are wired. Seatbelt and airbag info are in the SBC and SRC sections, respectively.

Edit: Keep in mind that I am only going by what I read in the FSMs. I've never attempted a project like this nor am I 100% sure that I am interpreting the FSMs properly. I'm just trying to give you some hints until someone that knows what they are talking about shows up.

THanks for the advice. I will probably pull my pasenger's side seat out again and see if I can track it down the harness through the carpeting. If you happen to look into where the heater switch wiring harness runs, I would appreciate it.

Please do let us know what you find. I don't plan on cracking open my console anytime soon, but, if I do, I will let you know what I find.

hate to pull a thread back from the dead. I am wondering if anyone figured out what is missing on the 2010 models to make it work properly? I bought some heated/power seats and just like delorean I found the wires underneath my base model seats taped up. After hooking up the seats I found no power was going to them. I also checked my cupholder when installing the heated seat switches but no plugs were found.
So now I sit with seats leaned all the way forward that cant adjust due to no power going to them. Im going to run a wire from the battery as a temp fix to hopefully get them to move. Would love to get them to plug in properly and get the heated seat function to work.

you are probably missing the relay or fuse, my 2012 had it. Take a volt meter to your harness under the seat, I have a thread showing u how I had power etc. That's the first thing u need to check. If the harness is there, most likely power is there for the power seats. Could be ur missing the fuse only.. so look at that first. Then worry about the heated seats.

yeah ill try to grab a guide and look. Im going by what delorean said about installing all the missing fuses and it not working. Some good news is I did tap into where the power should be coming from on the seats and did a direct connect to the battery to see if it would solve the problem. It did allow me to move the seats. so worst case I will just run power to the seats that way.

did you ever figure this out becauseI'm pretty much having this exact predicament, tried 2 dealerships and it was devastating how useless they were...

I have the touring, but my car is in storage, so I cannot help.
Ask around in the Audio section. Most of those guys have gutted the interior to install deadening material.

OK guys,
I have looked everywhere and am stumped. I have a 2009 Sport and have purchased the touring seats here locally. I do not have the heated seat switches under the cup holder and appear to be missing part of the harness under the seats that power the power seat function. I am pretty sure the 2009-2010 models did not come with the whole wiring harness or at least that is what I have read.

My question of course is what harness am I missing? I have been trying to solve this for the last couple of weeks and so far this thread has given me the most info but not quite enough to find and order the correct harness. Please, if anyone can help me I would be very, very grateful and throw some rep points at you. Thanks in advance.

If nobody comes up with a good answer, try contacting some place like Courtesy Parts.

Tried courtesy parts website and while it is indeed a great one I was unable to figure out what I need. The heated seats are not that important to me at this time (summer) and I can wait to tackle that project in the fall but I really need to be able to move the seats around.

Please, please, pretty please give me a shout if you can offer any type of info or advice. Thanks in advance.

Strange...my 2011 base/sport have all the harnesses ready to accept my touring seats. It was plug and play in my case...I wonder if Nissan left out those harness on the older models. I'll be working on the car tomorrow, I'll try to grab some pictures of the harness locations for you guys.

Thank you guys for your input, from what I have gathered and is by no means accurate but here goes:
2009-2010 models did not come with the additional wiring harness and plugs so we are a long ways from "plug and play". Also, as far as I can tell the 2011 and later models had the wiring in place so you guys had it easy.

Where I need the help is I am sure there is a wiring harness that I am missing and so far unable to locate, this ( I think) would be a harness to include the heated seat relay behind th cubby as well as thenheatednseat switches and let's not forget the power seat function.
I have not been able to locate this harness.

Please, please, please, help me.
Thanks,
Puke
