its hard plastic, so if you have any object that is flat, it'll slide around. But if you have something that's not flat, it does a pretty good job holding

its hard plastic, so if you have any object that is flat, it'll slide around. But if you have something that's not flat, it does a pretty good job holding it in place. And yes, those hexogonal pockets hold dirt. And yes, that's the ebay seller i bought it from.
