Default Seat belt warning chime

Just got a 2012 370Z. I noticed when the driver's seat belt is not fastened and the Z is driven, the warning light comes on but the warning chime doesn't sound. Tried the passenger side and no chime as well. I had the dealership check the fuse and it's fine. The service department said the Z might not have a chime or the sensor in the seat is not working.

Does anyone know if there is a warning chime in the Canadian version of the 2012 370Z? I thought an audible seat belt warning was mandatory.

Strange. The user manual ( page 2-13 ) says the warning light comes on when the ignition switch is ON and the chime will sound for 6 seconds.

Actually I'm glad it doesn't. I'll have to tell the dealership. They're not sure. Thanks.

second this.

BMW is pleasant to the point where you probably want it to keep chiming.

Sorry for the thread hijacking but in mine, 2010 (Europe) I have the very annoying chime. It starts when I don't have my seat belt on and drive above 10km/H. Worst thing: it won't stop until I stop the engine or plug it in.

Please don't give me security lessons :-) The 2 reasons:
- trunk is small, I tend to put (sometimes heave) groceries on passenger seat and this it thinks someone is sitting
- I have a long private path until arriving home. So when I stop at my mailbox at the beginning of the path, I don't want to put my belt again for the path to my home which is literally between 2 fields...

Any way to disable that horrible sound?
Thanks.

Yes you can, either:

A) Cut your seat belts off and plug them in and you will have no chime.

or

B) Find a wrecked 370 or compatible nissan in a junkyard and get the seat belts to plug in.

Disclaimer: You did not state whether you wanted to keep the safety feature of a seatbelt or not.

there is no chime but there is a light.... if you unplug the seat belt harness from under the seat, it should no longer chime, light up if you don't wear your seat belt...
