Paddle shifter help

Hey guys just got my new TID cf paddle shiters, I was looking on the forum for DIY paddle shifter removal so that I can install these ones, but didn't find anything, does anyone have any insight on how to remove the paddle shifters and what is required exactly, any feedback will be helpful

i dont know offhand cause mine's a MT, but did you check the downloadable service manual?

The easiest way is to remove the steering wheel first.

Disconnect the battery first. Then there are two retaining bolts to remove the airbag (they're safety torx - 6mm, I believe). Then one large nut for the steering wheel (19mm, I think). Next, you pull the console covers off and you should have access. Here's an exploded diagram of the layout:

Wow that's more complicated than I thought it would be thought it was a simple bolt on, well thank God I'm gonna remove all of that any ways to put my new steering wheel

seems like I'll do it in one go, special thanks to 370ztune for hooking me up with those bad boys quality and feel of them is just amazing

Congrats on the new paddle shifters

FYI...take it slow and easy w/ the torx screws...they're in their tight (locktite)...so it's easy to strip the heads. It was a pain to change my steering wheel out (I stripped one of the torx heads), but if it was easier, I'd probably jump on these CF shifters too.

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments and advice

thank God I'm gonna have a pro install these as well as the steering wheels as I don't trust my self with this kinda work loool will defiantly post pics when all is installed, just waiting on Tony to ship out the steering wheel and center council should be shipped out within the next couple days can't hardly wait

It's actually pretty easy to pull the steering wheel off (I can usually do it on the Z and GT-R in about 5-10 minutes). The whole process should take you about an hour or two if you go slowly.

Make sure you use tamper-proof Torx. Also, spray some penetrating oil and let it sit for a good 15 minutes. Mine came out with no problem. Of course my car smelled like penetrating oil for a month, but...
