my headlights are soon to be done. just waiting for my color matched SOLID RED To come in. black headlights with red projectors & landing strip led's. cant wait.

I just found this info recently...

FYI: The R8 uses Luxeon Altilon LEDs. These are quad package LEDs with 350-1000mA operation. Interesting stuff...

LUXEON Altilon | Automotive Forward Lighting White LEDs

In the audi headlight, Luxeon LED's are only used for the low beam. They use 3 of them and place them inside the projector, replacing the HID system. Their DTRL/Parking lights are Piranha LED's, same ones we use in our headlights. I know this because I've taken the R8 headlight apart.

Oh really? I thought I was right about the piranha LEDs in the R8 headlight until I read about the Altilon LEDs.

Yum... more LEDs. I just hate the fact I need to remove my trunk subwoofer and interior pieces just to get to the bolt behind the tail light.
