Default Any tips and tricks to remove the stock spoiler?

Trying to take out my rear spoiler so that I can install a Nismo S-Tune version. The double sided-tape Nissan used for the stock spoiler is like SUPER GLUE... Do I just need to use heat(hair dryer) to soften it up? Would it not damage the paint if I keep blowing hot air in the area?
