Funky A/C smell

They should put this on the window sticker of 350's and 370's: Funky HVAC smell......no charge.

They did add an "in cabin" air filter to later models, but the filter really doesn't solve the mildew problem that causes the smell - it seems to happen regardless. Running the heater to evaporate the moisture does work if you can remember to do it - and you can stand the heat.

Leagues of Z drivers have battled this demon with various combinations of chemicals, with some success, but never permanently. We keep trying, though.

when you turn off the engine make sure the vent is left open to the outside so that moisture can evaporate.

gourneyeagle- being humid in texas slows down the evaporation..... sux i know :\

i too suffer from this and its annyoing when you have a passenger and as soon as the AC kicks in you get that odd moment where the passenger wonders wtf is the smell

Step 2: If it's a girl, just look at her in disgust. She'll get self conscious and will apologize.

If it's a guy, just look at him with the look of victory, and he'll give you props.
