Painted Trim Pieces

I have been wanting to do this for awhile and now just got around to starting this. I wanted to paint all the pieces that are silver in my car to flat black giving that stealth look.

Being that the pieces that are around the shifter and the cup holder are the biggest pieces and the easiest to remove I started there for today. I feel it looks more suttle than the silver trim (IMO).

Looks good. Take some zoomed out photos if you can so we can see how the whole cockpit looks with the new stealth trim pieces.

All these pieces look better in dimmer light and in person. My camera sucks. It makes things look brighter than they are. Especially my car.

i was thinking the same thing for awhile now but dont have time to take it all apart..i have a monetery blue so was thinking either painting them blue to match the car or red to go w it..so i plastic dipped the door opening piece red first..

I forgot about the platic dip stuff.

Does anyone know if the bezels around the gauges just pop off if pried on? I'll find out soon enough.

I was testing the plastic dip out for the he'll of it..it's alot more work than u might think painting that one little piece..
SPOHN: let me know how it goes w u taking out the middle silver piece..I would love to take out the gauges and odometer pieces as well

I will. If I have time today I'm going go to do the AC controls and my after market gauges. Today I'm having an alignment and my wing installed.

I thought of this also for I'm wanting to incorporate red into my car. But I'm going to just leave that for the engine bay.

Your stitching looks good dyed too. Elmer's paint or Uchida dye pen?

The black parts look great, not a fan of all the silver pieces in my car either.
Other colors would be harder to pull off without looking tacky, unless there's an overall color scheme going on.

Durability of the paint is an issue though. Wonder if there's enough interest in actual replacements already molded in the desired color?

I think I used Elmer..did that awhile back..not sure if Im gonna invest more $$ into the car as I might have to move to another country for work..just right when I'm about to enjoying the Z too
