It does... just had that issue this weekend. Everything LOOKS fine until you take off the tape and riiiiiiiiiiiiiip. The finely taped edge just tears like crap and leaves you with a ragged edge.

Damn

Try experimenting with peeling the tape at different stages of drying. Also, running a razor blade right along the edge as you're peeling the tape should help. You're just trying to score the coating, not slide all the way through. It takes some practice.

I haven't plasti-dipped anything in years, but those 2 things made a lot of difference for me.

I very lightly scored (used a new Xacto knife blade) the Plastidip at the edge of the Plastidip/masking tape joint and got very nice edges. Practice on some scrap material first so you won't cut into the paint.

I pulled the tape off about 10min after spraying and didn't have issues. It's been perfect for a month now.

I have had really good results with my fangs. I painted them several months ago, and they still look great. I spent a lot of time getting the tape straight, and then scored the dried Plastidip with a razor before peeling the tape away. To notice any imperfections in the painted edge you have to be within a few inches.

You guys were correct on the peeling issue. I should have taken more time with the razor to get the tape to come off a little easier!! Here are a few pics of the aftrermath. Good thing it comes off so easy!! I found that Windex with amonia works the best.
