Default 55 watt HID kit?

I like running 10000k blue bulbs but obviously the light output is tarnished so I've thought about running a 55 watt kit with 12000k, so it'll be both blue and bright.

Has anyone tried replacing their factory 35w with a 55w?

I think you should be fine with the 35w im running 12ks and light output hasnt suffered drastically infact it is better than I expected.

*Lights extend from my garage almost all the way down to my drive way a good 20-25ft.

you can't really call it a payback considering you're looking for "legal," but them trucks are not playing the same field as you are.

Plus, you have projectors...they have regular highlights. You have Cyclop's super optic blast, they have Cyclop's Megal Optic Blast.

Legally...you're not supposed to change your bulbs. End of story.

Only OEM HID kits are LEGAL.
If you read carefully, all HID kits say for offroad/showroom use only.

Now if you wanna be not as noticeable, IMHO 6-10k is ok. Anything other than that is calling for too much, sometimes unwanted attention

Here are some letters I found when doing my research back in the day, when I was first looking into the matter.

Mr. Simon S. Shih, 4 Teal, Irvine, CA* 92604
Mr. Jeff Deetz, Sales Manager, Santeca Electronics, Inc., 7215 East 21st Street, Suite D, Indianapolis, IN 46219
Mr. Song M. Kim, C.M.O./Fanteks, Inc., 580 Sylvan Ave., Suite 1A, Englewood Cliffs, NJ* 07632

All of these 3 letters kinda link to each other and call to each other's info.

There was another government site I read, which I cannot seem to find at this moment, but then again I am at work

The regulations are interpreted different by each state, so what a LEO might complain about here in AZ another LEO in say..NY may find it as ok.Do remember cops are not trained to differentiate the types of bulbs and which are OEM or not, they just use common sense.

I've done more than one of said kits, both of which HAD oem projectors, so it wasn't like it was one of those annoying civics with bright a$$ blue light shinning in your mirrors. But as the said letters specify, no (until that date at least) aftermarket HID bulbs have been DOT certified, thus are not able to be used as the MAIN source of light.
