If he is refering to what I think, then yes... it most certainly is part of the frame.

OP, it really depends on where the dent is and the size. You might be able to get it fixed with paintless dent removal methods which isn't too expensive. Figure a couple of hundred dollars if you have to get it "pulled" then repainted.

yah, the price will be dependent on the location in the quarter panel. the PDR tech may drill an access hole from the door jam side, wheelwell, or remove the trunk liner and tail lamp to make a access hole back there.

Cant really see it well unless it is on a certain angle, it is the lil 'imperfection' that irks me. I think it will cost a couple hundreds too for the fix and repaint.

And mike is right, it is the font part of the rear fender, just slightly above the wheel well. Which is part of the frame. What is this paintless dent removal method you mentioned?

And thanks kenchan for the info.

Kinda hard to see and taking the pics with my iphone is not helping neither. no scratches on the paint but theres a small dent

Paintless dent repair (PDR) is basically just that. The techs use special tools to "pop" the dent back to the original shape. Figure around $150 for a dent that size. It's in a tough spot though, right on the edge of that fender line. It may be the pictures, but I would just leave it be if its hardly noticeable. The conventional method would be sanding, fill, paint and polish. You then run the risk of not having a perfect color match. I would ask a PDR tech for a more accurate quote before doing anything else.

the tech can access that without drilling. but he may tell you that he wont be able to get it completely out because of the decorative line.

It is not very visible unless you see it from an angle, but knowing its there pisses me off. I am gonna have a bumper and spoiler painted soon so i will ask the body shop to fix it. I will ask the dumbass to pay for it.

I have one in that spot. I got a quote, and they told me that they have to drill in the wheel well to get access to it right under the dent. Not worth it IMHO as it can rust out over time.

I dont think i will let them drill on it, i will probably gonna ask them to fill it and sand it down then repaint the whole section

actually you wont have to worry about rusting even if they drilled. they will usually use a 3M sealant and plug (plug-only if on door/door jam). that's wat i do and ive never had rust even in the winter road salt. in fact i had the usual rust from other parts of the car more. lol
