This Plasti Dip product is Awesome!

I really just want to have fun with it and remove it within a month or two. While I wait for the carbon fiber on the z to be finished

Just do this to your remaining areas that arent real CF...?

Create Carbon Fiber Look with Plasti Dip - YouTube

You can buy red plastidip and black dip. Then get the glossifier to put over the top. Then take pics to show how different real carbon fiber is next to plastidiped panels. I think it would look good after watching the video. But i have yet to try it!

I agree with just about everything minus the last sentence. PlastiDip does indeed dry in 20 minutes it doesn't fully "cure" for 48 hours or so. If you Dipped a wheel and twenty minutes later you ran a pressure washer over it you probably are gonna tear it off. Let that wheel sit for awhile and come back a week later and you can all but put that pressure washer 1/4" away from the wheel and the PD should stay on. I would never put a clear bra over PD, but if I was to do so I would give it a few days to "cure" I wouldn't do it twenty minutes later.

Didn't think anyone would be dumb enough to take a pressure washer to their car 20 minutes after they plasti-dipped it!

I decided to wait for the carbon fiber doors and other parts, after I decided to tape/mask some areas lol

Aren't you suppose to do 3-5 layers and leave 8-12 minute in between each layer? By the time you get to the last coats and peel the tape, its hard for me to get those sharp lines. Do you suggest heavier coats and pulling the tape way earlier?

My career is based on fixing and stopping stupidity. The things I see people do everyday defies all logic and common sense. I assume stupidity, it's just easier that way.

There is some new thought that you should not dip and peel, dip and peel. Instead, dip you layers on and the last layer go a little heavier and then peel as soon as you are done applying over the tape. When PD is applied to PD the lower layers reliquify giving you a cleaner line when you peel. I haven't tried it but the dipyourcar forum boys swear by it.

Now for some awesomeness. This weekend I will be blowing the top off of the PlastiDip world when I dip my Z like my lil test ride here.

It is actually a black base with a pigment called Interferene Violet in the glossifier. The pigment reflect violet in direct light otherwise the car looks black.

The best thing to do is simply scribe the edge with an exacto knife. Use two or three layers of masking tape, and you will have a nice guide for the knife to scribe. You don't have to use a lot of pressure.
