^^^^Whoa I think u went a lil over board with that masking job, jus to be doing that side emblem! Jk man it came out really well.

Side note to those interested in doing their handles it holds up extremly well rain or shine. I was hesitant about doing the handles also but I'm glad I went ahead and did it. My car lives outside for the time being, jus be sure to clean and prep them well I used rubbing alcohol with q-tips. Make sure u spray the inside where your fingers grab otherwise eventually it will start to peel off inside. But that's to be expected it's a $5 dollar mod, hope this helps! :tiphat:

I did my door handles about 6 months ago and then sprayed a couple layers of clear coat on top to help protect them. They look the exact same as the day I sprayed them. In fact, all the stuff I've sprayed has help up really well. There is one little rock chip in the passenger side mirror that I need to respray, but other than that the stuff is awesome.

Better to be safe then sorry!

Kool, still thinking about doing the door handles, how was usage of the driver door handle especially affected the plasti dip? Like when you open/close it constantly do you find it peeling?

Thanks!
Yeah the only reason we ended up masking that much was because winds were like 20+ MPH. I would never have used paint in the conditions we used the plasti dip but it was our only time off. Some overspray was getting on the door and hood which is why I went overboard on that side. But no worries it just came right off

If I wanted to do the nissan emblem with the Nissan part cut out as well, but not damage the emblem, anyone have any good ideas? I'm not sure the edge on the nissan lettering is sharp enough that it will peel off.

The ultimate would be if I could do it black but have the lettering be white. Any suggestions before I go through with all black would be appreciatted.

First tape off the area around what you want to "Dip". Four or five good coats of black first. Wait a day so it can dry. Then painter's tape over the whole emblem and cut out the "NISSAN" with an exacto knife. Then four or five coats of the color you want the "NISSAN". Look at pictures below...

Those cuts don't look very clean. I think I'll just do solid for now.

Then go pay some $ and get them professionally done, or make the cuts better yourself.

The second color makes the world of difference. IMO

Just got the gunmetal plasti dip from dipyourcar earlier today. Going to dip my Avantgarde wheels. It was way too windy here today to do it.

I meant no offense. I'm a OCD kinda guy. Even the smallest infraction would drive me nuts.

I was actually thinking about making a clay mold to push into the nissan emblem. that way I spray everything one color, put the mold in and peel around it. Then leave the mold in and spray it all again. This should in theory give the perfect cut. Making the clay mold would be tough though. Might have to ask my wife for help on it.

Looks like you can buy it from here, but they are out of custom colors for now.

Here's a pic I found of someone who used gun metal plasti dip on there wheels. I think I'm gonna try this. Gun metal plasti dip with either the silver metallizer or a gloss finish. Gonna look sick
