Nope... holds up well. Rain or wind....

To anyone that has painted their door handles, how did you get the inside part? And does your button stick now? And has anyone tried to remove plastidip from handles yet?

Yes, I am going to do this as well, so Flush are you expecting the door handles to hold up after usage of opening and closing?

Yeah thats my main concern, I don't want it to start peeling and look awful, I mean I could just peel it all off...but eh. I don't think I want to put in the effort if I know it won't last, may just stick to doing the emblems.

There's going to be a lot of funky Zs in a few years roaming around with peeling handles and rims. :rofl2: Then the masses that don't understand will be like wtf. :ugh2:

Yeah decided to stick with just doing the emblems for now, I think ill wait on the handlebars, maybe get them professionally done later.

Hey Guys PM zentropy. His handles are PLASTI-dipped and are holding up pretty well. The inside will start to peel after a while, but that should be obvious.
We just did our camaro's side emblems which are waaay more complex than the Nissan burgers yet it worked perfectly. Peeled off around the camaro in one piece! As for my handles, which I spray painted with Krylon fusion, my passenger button sticks but still works. The drivers side is perfect. I think it's just a matter of how much build up is around the buttons when your done. And as for painting the entire area. I had the handle propped open using a small screw to get the area you don't see unless your pulling the handle to open it which worked perfectly. The one thing I learned about this stuff is that it's not going to damage anything (paint) or you be unable to get it off if you dont want it on. We had to wipe off some overspray from the hood between a couple of the coats when it was windy and it just comes right off after hardening. We did 4 coats 10-15 minutes apart even though it says wait an hour between them. Then we waited overnight to peel off the rectangle from the camaro just to be on the safe side. It says wait 4 hours per coat to dry completely but I think one hour would have been enough. There's no risk |
