Unhappy Window operation with ignition OFF

My car does not allow me to open or close the windows with the ignition off.
Gets pretty irritating when you just park the car and forget to close the window and then have to put the ignition to ON or start the car again just to close the window.

I see in the owners manual (pg. 2-42) the the windows should be powered for about 45sec after the ignition is pushed to off. Other then this my window work perfectly.

How can i reactivate that function.

That function is true until a door is opened.

I know. But the doors aren't opened and it still doesn't work.

You might try the window reset and see if that fixes it.

Yes the car is still in warrenty. I was just hoping that I could just reset or activate it myself and avoid a trip to the dealer.

I would say you are going to need to visit a dealership, as the sound of it there is probably a sensor out or something which will need to be replaced.

Actually my car had it "sometimes". Depends on the mood.

To get rid of the computer window gimmickry look at the new thread to get the windows working all the time, any time. If interior theft bothers you (there's an easier way in I believe, than pushing window switches), then add a secret switch or timer.

Cheers, Fritz.

Put the key from your fob in the key hole in your door. Turn it to lock the car (to your left) and hold for a few seconds and the windows go up. To put them down just press and hold the unlock button on your key fob.
