Door over-opened from heavy wind :(

Although the doors are probably aluminum, they feel like plastic. Doubt the body shop would touch it for anything but money. Go with the first suggestion, get an out-of-pocket cost

The part is inexpensive. If he has a $500 deductable, it might not be worth it to go thru insurance. If the part he is refering to is the one I mentioned earlier, its not going to cost more than $500 to repair. Unless of course he wants to replace the entire door panel and repaint.

The hinges are sprung. It's not the shop's fault. You'll need all the door hinges. They will probably need to be painted. Your door will need to be repaired, and refinished. Also all the attached parts will need to be r-i'd. Handle, belt moulding, mirror, etc. The fender will also need to be blended. Which means the Z emblum, headlamp will need to be r-i'd. Plus they will need to drop the front bumper cover end as well. It's a comp claim. Usually comp claims are forgivable.
