Hey guys im expecting my seibon cf ts hood after two days, i was just wondering, is it easy to install the hood at home, removal of the old hood and installing the new one, or should i get it done at a shop?

I installed it myself, it was easy, two person job, but it has fitment issues. I would recommend getting it done at a shop the right way, shouldn't cost too much at all.

getting it lined up isnt hard its just getting the latch pins to the perfect height thats the pain in the butt... it takes patience and small half turns until you get it to lock all the way down. BTW I would recommend doing one side at a time with the locking pins its easier and less hassle with popping and shutting the hood.

I think this is pretty much a straight forward install. Just getting the hood latch adjusted properly is key. I didn't any fitment issues with my Seibon on my 350. I was pretty shocked at the fitment and how equal it wa on the lines at the fenders. Adjusting the the hood where it mounts to the hinges plays a part also. So only tighten loosely at first till you get it aligned on both sides. Ther's not much play but little.

Just take your time with it- it's not a rush job. You will need to move it around a bit to make sure it aligns properly. Tighten it down, drop the hood and see how it lines up, bring it back up, untighten, adjust, tighten, hood back down, etc, etc until it's how you like it.

I also suggest having a second person there to help you put the hood on until you can get it somewhat mounted to the hinges. The last thing you want to do is fumble with the hood and scuff or crack it during install.

Most Seibon hoods require a little bit of alteration to fit properly. Nothing major- once you line it up correctly and possibly route out the hood mounts/move the latch it should work out well.

The fitment is usually spot on after you make these small adjustments. It's not something that can be rushed, even though it looks very simple since it's only like 4 screws to change the hood out.
