Default Passenger Side Window

I just got my Z today! It really is a beautiful car, however there already a problem. When you open the passenger door, the window cracks down a little like its supposed to, but when you close the door, it doesnt go back up. Has anyone else had this problem?

Nope. The windows do crack down and are supposed to go back up. I would play around with it for a while, If the issue isnt your error the take it to dealer and have them fix it. One of the various reasons I traded my 03 z for the 370 "warranty".

does this effect the one touch operation too? if so, it sounds like the window motor may have forgot its stop.... if its the same as it was a few years ago... close the door, manually operate switch w/out hitting one touch trigger up then down but hold the button an extra five seconds or so at each stop (if thats not it someone on here prob knows the proper procedure). worth a shot anyway, if not that its a dealer issue imo.

Not sure it this will solve the problem, but SoCal370 posted this up earlier after doing an install on illuminated kick plates. (battery had to be disconnected)

If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system.

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window completely by operating the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows.

I believe this is in the manual, but I haven't looked.

If the power window automatic function does not operate properly after performing the procedure above, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer.

This is to let the air inside the cabin to go out,so that the door can close easier.I can says almost all 2 door sports cars got this function.

Its because there is no window frame on the door like most convertibles. Its so the window can seal after you close the door. You would/could cause damage to the window if it didn't drop and you tried to open/close the door.

I think its more of a convertible thing than a sports car thing (i realize the Z isn't a convertible but the door acts the same way).

Yes, this is in the manual. It's straight out of the manual. Funny how that thing can be useful if people take the time to look at.
