Well, I actually did tear up the stock knob. I removed it the other day, b/c I had a titanium shift knob from my STi and was wondering if it fit or not. Obviously it didn't. This is why I am looking to get a new shift knob now.

I knew this going into it. I figured I would just fit a nice aftermarket knob, but am still deciding which one to go with. That is why I started this thread. Also, in the future I do plan on installing a short throw shifter, so sooner or later it was destined to be removed.
