I use it all the time when working on guitars to set up the string height accurately. On the Celica, it was nice because you could lay it on the top of the front cover and use it as a straight edge to really accurately check cam timing.

I had actually used a straight edge to try and align them the first time I mounted the center piece to the outer ring-- the problem is that the two tabs on either side curve a bit, so it's easy to get things misaligned using that as the guide.

I just readjusted using a straight edge and straight body lines of the hood/trunk to realign. The front was only slightly off, but the rear was so far off, I'm beginning to wonder if the glue yanked it a bit to one side as it cured -- either that or I am seriously incapable of tracing a straight line with my eye even with the assistance of a ruler (of course, I'm left/right directionally challenged, so this could be yet another limitation of my mushy brain

).

I've got painters tape on to hold everything in place and will snap pics later today or tomorrow
