i loved me nismo titanium shift knob. its all about what style u want and how you wanna grab it. i was grabbing onto to mine like it was a joystick. i know some prefer balls instead.

I've yet to see anything that makes me want to remove the stock shift knob. Even on my 01 GT i just removed the OEM one and added an OEM 05 GT knob.

Well, at least u'r not gonna sit on it, HAHAHAHA! JK!

I haven't felt the Nismo knob yet, but the stock knob feels kinda big to me, since I came from an S2000.

Geez, my reply sounds nasty, HAHAHAAHH! :rofl2:

team voodoo pearl shift knob with zeetoys shift boot collar. the voodoo pearl has a clear coat finish over the metal so it matches the silver color on the interior a little better than bare metal. looks almost factory

I like your setups....I went through a couple variations and figured I'd post a couple pic's. First I colored in the number pattern on the stock knob then I moved on to the gun metal knob and finally found the red and black combo. The folks at Redline Goods were easy to work with and I had my custom boot within 8 days after placing order. They have a great selection.....

just as an FYI, we sell our version of the Hebi Bebi shift knob, at 1/3 the price. We have very, very limited supplies and they sell out quick...but you can always email us to see what colors we have available and what wait times might be. These are countersunk to all hell and weigh in close to 1.5 lbs!

I can not makeup my mind about which knob I want! My Z is my first manual and I don't know why I just don't like the feel of the stock knob much. My options so far are:

-Tommy Kaira style ^

-NISMO Titanium

-Custom - (just won the auction $100) not sure if its worth it...Its definitely something you don't see often.:ugh2:

I got the sweetknobs.com Stainless Steel one on order. It's well priced and looks very 'home made' which I dig.

I like it! I think not enough people view this thread!

have you had an opportunity to test it out, or is that saved for the weekend?

haha, thanks mr. zman. i did try it out today, in fact. it's very good, the gates are crisp and short. the weight makes it easy and non clunky feel.

i should've just gotten this in the first place instead of going with that pw knob...

Does anyone know the weight of this shift knob? EDIT: Found it buried in PWJDMs sponsor thread, it's 508 grams. Here is the thread page for ya'll. http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...s-make-21.html

How about the ergonomics of the knob itself. Does it feel proper?

yes, the twm feels perfect. that was the main issue i had with the pw knob. it's a small diamer with spherical/egg-like top. if a ball shaped, it needs to be larger; otherwise the knob slips out of the hand going into quick gear changes into 2nd. there's a reason why knobs are less round at the top when narrow.

the big type-r knob is big + not round at top. makes it  x2

I was down to the TWM and Nismo Ti myself. If I ever feel like grabbing another shift knob I would definately try out the big type-r from TWM. I got a great deal on the Nismo Ti I couldnt pass it up.

I'm actually about to buy a pwjdm knob. For most places the shipping cost to Canada is kinda crazy. But I saw a pic of the blue pwjdm knob and I feel I'm obligated to get this for my baby. I think the colour is awesome and matches well!

I have both PW (V2) and TWM (Piston)... I kept on using my TWM because it feels better and sits lower. However, TWM Piston doesn't look that good, it looks like a soda can...on the other hand, PW (V2) looks like a anal probe....

if between pw v1 and v2, i would do the v1 for sure. the v2 is just shaped wrong, imho. it looks nice and has good weight, but ergonimically while shifting into 2nd is questionable.

ive owned lots of knobs and tried them over the years on many different cars, but i keep coming back to type-r and desert eagle style knobs for ergonomics. if youre getting the type-r style knob for your z, definitely get the big type-r knob.

http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...iftknob_07.gif

it has to do with the flat top and taper/radius where it meets the side of the knob. that angle is critical for shifts into 2nd gear.

Type R imho is one of the best shift knobs, if not the best looking on the market. saving some cash for this baby :yum:

i have both the regular type-r and big type-r from twm. both are excellent choices, but the big type-r is definitely the preferred choice especially on the Z. :)

Mr. Kenchan I wonder how the desert eagle feels compared to big type r.

The undisputed Champion of course... Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi. I just ordered one myself from vividracing :)

I had a TWM A6 Leopard (480 grams) in my 350Z and that was a quality knob but the TK is soooo hot and the 515 grams will make shifting really pleasant.

We share the same tastes as I see you had an Ings N-Spec body kit. Post pics when you get the Niz, and definitely the TK knob. I imagine we're on the same order schedule since we bought from the same importer.
