My boy made it and had it on his ride, but I made an offer on it and he sold it to me. Not only is it a unique knob shifter (the only one) but it is a conversation piece. Not only that but it doesn't weigh 300 grams. It doesn't weigh 400 grams. It doesn't weigh 500 grams. IT IS 6 GRAMS SHORT OF 800! A WHOPPING 794 GRAMS! It is almost two pounds and if I needed to, I could unscrew it and put it in my fist and call myself the one hitter quitter. It is that solid.

hmm...time for me to find a lathe and make a shift knob then

kenchan 10-21-2010 12:53 PM

that's not very nice to say you have the best shift knob ever if it's not even available to the general public... boo that man!

Stealth_Z 10-25-2010 07:10 PM

I saw one of my 240 friend have this knob...
Interior, Dress-Up - More Japan :: Since 2003

It seems pretty cool even has the button thing. Not really sure how well it works though. I think that same site did a sale on them he told me that's where he bought it. Anyone know anything about that knob and the button thingee?

Question for you guys that have posted these pics...

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...shiftknob1.jpg

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o...d/IMG_0243.jpg

Where are you getting the knob seat? Is that something that comes with those knobs?

I'm about to order a new knob but I don't want the knob to sit on the leather boot.

Suggestions?

CCastro 10-31-2010 03:36 AM

For the first one, the PW JDM knob comes with a collar that lets is sit nicely on the boot... thats why i like it so much

CharBoiler 10-31-2010 02:35 PM

The second one is from Zeetoys. Can't remember which I got but they have an Aluminum and Stainless version

m10

VaGntlmn 11-03-2010 08:56 PM

TypeOne - thank you VERY much for asking the question about knob seats. I just switched out my shift knob and have a gap that I hate. That is exactly what I wanted to know.

CCastro and CharBoiler - Thank you for the responses. Zee Toys looks great!!

gtkiller 11-08-2010 11:09 PM

Good question TypeOne I was about to ask the very same question.

I'll take blue of course

Joebarchuck 06-29-2011 11:19 PM

The stock one is actually pretty good looking.

EazyD 06-30-2011 08:34 PM

Anyone regret changing their shift knob? What kind do you have?

JollyGoodChap 07-01-2011 11:22 AM

I like the stock but if I ever were to replace it, it'd be this one by razo. It sits low and slightly offset The weight is nice at about 1lb.

kenchan 07-01-2011 11:28 AM

no regrets here, im using the nismo titanium knob.

if i feel like changing it again i will check out the offerings from TWM. they got some really nice knobs over there. :yum:

dmatt 07-01-2011 11:48 AM

I will certainly second the motion by SPOHN on the Forged Performance shift knob. No markings on it, so clean and also weighted nicely. I just received mine, so Forged is still selling them.

cheshirecat 07-01-2011 01:06 PM

I've bought a few Momo shift knobs. They're the universal fit kind. I had the F-16 evo model and really liked it... the "leather" eventually rubbed off after like 80k miles and I had to change it out. Never found one that I liked as much.

The Tommy Kaira one looks awesome but damn... like over 200 bucks for a shift knob...

C09 07-01-2011 01:31 PM

Anyone know the weight of the Nismo aluminium knobs??

takjak2 07-01-2011 08:26 PM

<< Nismo stock leather

shadoquad 07-01-2011 08:45 PM

I don't know if anyone's posted this one yet, but I have the TWM Leopard A6 in Gunmetal, and I like it. :D

Guys, I like the shift knobs I've seen but I have a question, how scratch resistant are theses knobs? My Z is my daily. I want a nice looking, feeling shift knob but I don't want it to get marred up easy either.

If this is a concern, you should check out TWM Performance. This video may help you make a decision.

I had this on my G, and was debating installing it on my new ride. I'm not quite ready to take the stock Z nob off yet, think it's pretty decent... How was the fitment with that finisher?

butdamnbrian 08-25-2011 12:44 PM

shift knobs are one of my favorite car parts all around.. MODS can we get a sticky for this thread?! i'd love to see what everyone's got..

i rock the tommy kaira hebi bebi shift knob. a bit pricier than the nismo knobs, but man. so worth it.

http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...hebi-bebi.html

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...tommykaira.jpg

at one point i also wanted one of the rare arc titanium neo chro knobs.

blox racing also makes some pretty sick knobs that are actually pretty affordable:

http://www.bloxracing.com/bloxshop/i...ory&path=34_69

for the guys who like the zele knob, this could be a passable substitute:
http://www.bloxracing.com/bloxshop/i...product_id=414

or

http://www.bloxracing.com/bloxshop/i...product_id=319

i waited a long time for a brushed neo blox 490, but they were so backordered i never got one. once i got the z, i decided a round knob doesn't look as good in our cars. plus, the hebi bebi is the knob to end all knobs.

I just swapped out my shift knob - for the second time!!!
This time I put on a Stainless TWM M1 Abrams knob.
Heavy sucker - about 460 grams!!

oro 09-08-2011 11:15 PM

Zele Titanium, replaced my Hebi Bebi. Hebi Bebi is to palm shifters as this is to grip shifters.

This is a great thread. i wish there were more non metal shift knob options such as jdm pw's.

i like the look of so many metal ones, but dont wanna fry my hand in the summer

Does anyone know of any more non metal shift knobs?
